I was asked by @bylines.cymru to write about my experiences of austerity as a health worker, so here's what I came up with.

There’s a message for you here – you can save public services Writing and reading and talking about austerity and its impacts can be depressing, dispiriting, and infuriating. But those of us affected do have power, and hope. ✍️ @philjdore.bsky.social bylines.cymru/politics-and...

Once again, Welsh Labour MPs at Westminster vote against the interests of Wales. Control of the Crown Estate must be devolved to Wales as it is to Scotland. Westminster isn't working. Wales deserves better. nation.cymru/news/welsh-l...

Great to see Labour have listened and changed their position on an EU Youth Mobility Scheme. But this is just the start. We must keep up the pressure to ensure the Government seizes this chance to begin fixing the damage of Brexit.

We don't need to be reminded about the strong links with Holyhead and Dublin 🛳⚓️🛟 Something which wasn't a priority in the Brexit Talks

Yess! Great news for animal welfare for the greyhounds 🐕🐕

"A greener future is a fairer one". #GreenParty leaders tell @hughes_walton their ambitions for a greener #Wales. By Hannah Walton-Hughes. Read here: cardiffjournalism.co.uk/thecardiffia...

Very welcome news. Greyhound racing to be banned in Wales. Thanks to all who have campaigned tirelessly on this vital animal welfare issue and Senedd members from across all parties. #CutTheChase www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Just one more move to the right. That'll do it. That will finally neutralise the fascists.

Was good to meet with Consul General of Ireland in Cardiff Denise McQuade this morning for a wide ranging discussion on the strong links between Wales and Ireland and many areas of mutual interest.

Thanks for a great event in a brilliant venue!

Was great to join @nataliegreenpeer.bsky.social at the fabulous Book Space in Cardiff last Friday to discuss our books #FutureWales and #ChangeEverything Thanks to the shop for hosting and all who attended and contributed to a fascinating and wide ranging discussion. A better future is possible.

Big week ahead as we hold our second open meeting for all staff, begin balloting members on strike action, and continue to work with all students and staff to protect jobs and our fine university's reputation. Thank you to the students for holding a rally in support of staff last week ❤️ @ucu.org.uk

This isn’t just ‘policy’ any more is it, this is ‘life-saving policy’. Yes it’s annoying sometimes. Yes it could have been brought in differently - but it is a great example of sensible, evidence led government. BTW: Those lives you’re saving are likely to be young children and Grandparents.

Solidarity to all those facing job losses in my hometown. Once again the whims of a multinational corporation come above those of the local workforce. Unlike the other parties @walesgreenparty.bsky.social will stand up for workers not suck up to corporations✊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Remember when Labour were asking people to Vote for Change ... This is deplorable and morally bankrupt. Ramping up anti migrant rhetoric will only embolden Reform with their agenda of hatred and division and endangers the safety of the already vulnerable. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

The forcible removal of the people of Gaza would clearly be ethnic cleansing. Long beyond time for Keir Starmer to call it out for what it is. The ongoing silence on this is complicity and a betrayal of the Palestinian people.

‘Brexit yn drychineb llwyr, ond mae’n bryd edrych ymlaen at berthynas well’ Dywed Anthony Slaughter, arweinydd y Blaid Werdd yng Nghymru, ei fod yn “gweld newid yn y ffordd rydym yn trafod ac yn edrych i’r dyfodol” #gwleidyddiaeth ✍️ Rhys Owen

Is there anything Donald Trump can do that Keir Starmer and David Lammy would criticise? We're not talking here of a slip up or a huge error - we're talking about the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people. Appalling that it's been nearly 24 hours of silence.

Trump's advocacy for ethnic cleansing in Gaza - while hosting a man wanted by the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity - must not be ignored by Labour. The Government must defend international law, and reiterate Palestinians' right to self-determination.

Trump's threats of ethnic cleansing in Gaza are abhorrent and the UK government must stand firmly against them

We're giving oral evidence to @senedd.cymru Climate Change,Energy, and Infrastructure Committee tomorrow on the #DisusedTipsBill with @foecymrucydd.bsky.social. We'll be warning of the risk that this Bill could encourage 're-mining' coal tips of waste coal for profit under the guise of safety ❌

While hundreds of lecturers, support staff and students turned up to oppose the devastating cuts proposed by Cardiff, the Tories were gallivanting in another country. A completely unserious party.

Our members out in force today at the UCU Cymru rally against the brutal cuts Cardiff University is threatening to make. Our General Secretary @drjogrady.bsky.social spoke to @bbcwales.bsky.social about the devastating impact they would have on our members.

I want to say to all @cardiffuni.bsky.social staff and @ucu.org.uk members @walesgreenparty.bsky.social stands with you. These cuts will devastate livlihoods, students' education, and our young people's prospects. Welsh Government cannot wash its hands of the crisis in our universities.

Austerity marks a fork in the road for the South Wales Valleys Timely and important article from Shaun Thomas to start the @bylines.cymru month long Austerity Project. Years of cruel politically driven austerity have failed our communities. The future can be different bylines.cymru/community-cy...

@anthonyslaughter.bsky.social opening the @walesforeurope.bsky.social Conference by stating that Brexit has been a disaster to our day to day lives, is looking forward to improving our relations with the EU. The next generations were betrayed but this is the 1st day for a better future #5yearson

Anthony Slaughter, President of Wales for Europe, opening yesterday's #5YearsOn conference in Cardiff yesterday, and introducing keynote speaker Eluned Morgan MS, First Minister of Wales. Key quote from Eluned: "Wales is, and always will be, a European nation".

The Government met today with 700 "business lobbyists." Guess who was amongst them?

Looking forward to talking #ChangeEverything, and #FutureWales at the wonderful Book Space in Cardiff with @anthonyslaughter.bsky.social All welcome! Limited tickets www.bookspacecardiff.co.uk/products/fut...

The Government are not even hiding their dealings anymore. A mass zoom call this morning with arms companies & oil giants: All in the name of growth. Regular calls with teachers or nurses? No. Just the people destroying society. ✍🏼 - @ethanshone.bsky.social www.opendemocracy.net/en/dark-mone...

@anthonyslaughter.bsky.social , leader of the Green Party in Wales and president of @walesforeurope.bsky.social opens the #5yearssincebrexit conference in Cardiff Students'Union

I'm at the @walesforeurope.bsky.social Brexit #5yearson conference. @anthonyslaughter.bsky.social is opening the conference. He's very clear that "Brexit has been an unmitigated disaster" but also senses a "thawing" in the discussion about Brexit.

Five years since Brexit: an anniversary conference in Wales 31 January marks 5 years since Wales and the UK ‘Brexited’ the EU. It’s clearly time for an assessment of where we are now. The First Minister will address this conference. ✍️ @walesforeurope.bsky.social bylines.cymru/politics-and...

2025 is THE year for big climate and nature policy decisions in the UK, and the signals are clear that this Government is already failing. #BBCLauraK

Back from an early start this morning at BBC Radio Wales reviewing the papers for 'Sunday Supplement' with Richard Thomas and Vaughan Roderick.

Incredibly disappointed that MPs didn’t get the chance to vote on the Climate and Nature Bill - a crucial piece of legislation to prevent climate breakdown and protect our natural world. But thanks to all those who backed it - I'll keep fighting for urgent climate action #CANBill
