This is how it's done.

Antonia Juhasz’s list of brilliant women journalists covering climate, energy, environmental justice, and fossil fuels (with some special friends too). When I started out doing this work, we were but a small cadre, now we are everywhere. Please choose “follow all!” #starterpack go.bsky.app/EKJ27CU

Wow. Musk has simply and profoundly underestimated the power of organized peoples' resistance. Turns out when people organize against Bond-villians who think they can blow up the federal government like one of their many rockets and say, "I told you we'd make mistakes!", the people respond.

Mayor Mondale Robinson envisions a day when Black people in his community are able to live a life of pride, freedom, and economic stability. He believes solar, a weatherization resource center, and a gleaming new resilience hub will play a central role. www.canarymedia.com/articles/cle...

The Trump administration scored a major loss, and the #climate, environmental justice, and green #energy transition community (ie, everyone else) scored a significant win in court today in Washington, DC. Big feature article from me in Rolling Stone coming very soon.....

This from the guy whose official U.S. Dept of Transportation bio lists among his leading lifetime accomplishments: "Rachel and Sean are America’s first and longest-married reality TV couple."

America is watching. A change is coming. A stunning 45% say they “somewhat” or “strongly” agree that the U.S. is “an oligarchy,” defined as “a government in which a small group exercises control especially for corrupt and selfish purposes.” Only 28% disagree. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

When Chat GPT writes federal regulation. This is just ridiculous, folks. I'm sorry. I don't even know how to react. Trump executive order directs agencies to sunset regulations on energy production. Once inserted, the provision would repeal that regulation within 1 year unless extension granted.

If Trump’s EPA implements the plan, the public would almost certainly be exposed to much higher levels of petrochemicals linked to a range of serious health issues such as cancer, hormone disruption, liver disease, birth defects, and reproductive system damage. www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Before folks overreact to headlines about the judge’s ruling in the Khalil case, please note that (1) it was an immigration judge (IJ), not a federal district court; and (2) the IJ had no power to consider Khalil’s constitutional objections. This particular decision was a fait accompli.

This administration has not been shy about who they are or what they believe. An overt attack on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and Environmental Justice is racism, plain and simple. "...but preserved volumes defending white power."

Breaking: Trump administration sanctions China over Iranian oil. Yesterday, the State department announced sanctions against China-based oil and petroleum products terminal and refinery complex on charges of a "demonstrated pattern of violating U.S. sanctions on Iran."

The problem with this ruling is the presumption of regularity. In any other administration, a remand with instructions to facilitate Abrego Garcia’s return would lead to honest representations about what is—and isn’t—possible. In this administration, there’s no reason to expect straight answers.

Latest print mag feature, online at @rollingstone.com this morning, that I had the honor to contribute to: www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

hurrah for independent investigatory fearless news!

Another day, another declaration by Trump to push the U.S. further into overt petrofascism. Not just coal, but "clean coal" that will be reinvigorated by declaring a "national energy emergency" to help America achieve "Energy DOMINANCE" They are weaponizing make-believe to cook the planet faster.

The Fossil Fuel industry scores another Trump-win. Without data, it's far more difficult for the lawsuits trying to hold the industry accountable for the devastating harms of the climate crisis it knowingly causes & worsens to proceed. Campaign dollars well-spent. www.propublica.org/article/trum...

"Secure sources of power"? By definition they're limited vs. to actually endless security of renewable energy. They're "securing" the inability of our climate to sustain us without more & more severe fires, floods, heat waves, hurricanes, & more, "securing" lost lives, health, welfare, and jobs.

An amazing statistic from @chenoweth.bsky.social (brought to my attention by the fabulous @madelinevo.bsky.social ) There have been more than twice as many protests in February 2025 than February 2017 - they're more decentralized so harder for journalists to cover - but mighty and effective.

More of my regular installments of photos be me of the constant drumbeat of protests by regular folks taking place in and around DC against Trump and Musk.

Organizing works. Protest works. Resistance works. Use your privilege & power where you live & work to help protect & support vulnerable people & to encourage gov't & civil society to stand strong together & fight back. Join a group or start your own. gift link: wapo.st/4lu4Vr6

I'm calling for an investigation into whether President Trump manipulated the market to benefit his Wall Street donors—all while working people and small businesses paid the price. Did Trump help insiders cash in on his tariff flip-flopping? It sure looks like corruption.

In the Senate, Republicans approved a budget outline on Saturday that opens the door to locking in the Trump tax cuts indefinitely without Democratic support. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/06/u...

Millions of people took part in #Handsoff protests against President Donald Trump & Elon Musk across all 50 states & globally on Saturday, organized by a pro-democracy movement in response to what they call a “hostile takeover” and attack on American rights and freedoms. www.cnn.com/2025/04/05/u...

Here's how you end a Hands Off! demonstration, Santa Barbara style. Thanks to the Society of Fearless Grandmothers, who organized the human alphabet and took the drone shots! #indivisible #handsoff

I love my hometown!!!

Pasadena knows.

"We are the guardrails now" – the Raging Grannies (including my mom!) - at Hands Off protest in Madison

I have never seen anything like this in NYC. 5th Ave covered from 42nd St well to the 20s. Nobody prepared for this volume. Volunteers are holding the traffic on all the side streets. No police in sight. #handsoff

This is Utah in case anyone’s wondering how pissed off people are. I have never seen anything like this.

#HandsOff Florida

#HandsOff DC the whole city seems alive in protest of Trump and Musk

#HandsOff our public libraries! Protestors spotted throughout DC in addition to tens of thousands expected at main DC march plus the over 1000 rallies planned nationwide and internationally. Expected to be the largest mass protest against Trump, Musk & DOGE since the new administration took office.

Important to note that this is a unique case because it's about the dramatic contribution to coastal landloss caused by the fossil fuel industry's dredging of canals to allow for its pipelines and other operations through the state's vital wetlands, leading to massive landloss and coastal erosion.

Organizers with today's #HandsOff rallies expect the largest day of protest since the new administration with over 1000 events nationwide condemning Trump & Musk's overreach. "Hands Off Medicaid, Security, and our communities!" Photos from international solidarity protests already circulating.

HUGE verdict in Louisiana with significant implications for oil majors. BREAKING: Jury orders Chevron to pay $745 million in damages in landmark Louisiana coastal damage lawsuit. www.nola.com/news/environ...

The blatant painful racism of this order is shocking. It's important to still be shocked by racism, particularly overtly racist actions taken by a Democratic government. This is shocking. This is racist. And it's wrong. It's beneath us as a nation and a people. apnews.com/article/dei-...

If this isn't the power of peoples' movements and organizing, I don't know what is. The richest man in the world is being forced out of Washington because people organized and said he must leave. Amazing. apnews.com/article/trum...
