If you didn't like OT1, give OT2 a shot with the demo! It's kinda like FF in that they share the same core system and mythos, but different world and stories. You're bound to like one path. If not, listen to the OST. Listen to "Those Who Deny the Dawn" and tell me that isn't the most hype song ever.

I love that Ochette is basically just a Pokemon trainer and that her path action to befriend people using jerky is a reference to using dried meat to befriend Gau from FF6! Man I do crave a CotC x FF6 crossover after the FF4 one they did.

Octopath Traveler II released two years ago. Most might not agree with me, but I personally consider it on the same level as Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. It's a masterpiece. It's one of my favorite games Square Enix games ever. I can't recommend it enough!

Since I played in Japanese, I never got to experience her "WITH THESE HANDS" quote the same way. A lot of very anime-ish lines tend to sound cringe in English, but I'm happy that they become memes in OT fandom.

Temenos! His snark and teasing are really endearing as you learn more about him in his chapters. Though he hides behind them and his aloofness, he deeply cares about those he can trust to the point that it's arguably what drives his story. He wouldn't be so passionate in seeking the truth otherwise.

Played all games at launch. I've beaten both OT1 and OT2, still working on CotC BoA ch8. If I were to recommend only one, play OT2. It's been going on sale regularly and has a 3-hour demo that you can restart to try out all the characters.
