The leading (or at least largest) D&D server for Neverwinter Nights. With several thousand player and dedicated team of volunteer developers. Was also Lead Level Design on the Official NwN D&D titles 'Tyrants of the Moonsea' & 'Doom of Icewind Dale'

One of the hardest things about managing Arelith's social media is to avoid excessively posting about politics (players are if all stripes). That being said, if Elon goes ahead with his threat to buy #DnD might we then see Trump LARPing on the White House lawn?

The latest #DnD NWN DLC has been released where I was lead level (area) design. Was a lot of fun to make the Ten Towns for this, and a pleasure to work with author @lukescull.bsky.social again. store.steampowered.com/app/3093340/...

One problem with developing online D&D is worrying we have a hardware problem each time someone on staff reaches out to me about a problematic PC.

And... Map is fully done! Here is a few screenshoots of progress through it. Sorry for bad resolution, I made it bad-looking so players cant use it as actual in-game map... yet :) #map #maps #cartography #mapart #ttrpg #art #dnd

While our Bluesky following remains low, one can always connect with our community, at any time of day in our partnered Discord. With around 4000 members it never stops, and players are always on hand to help those new to us. #dnd discord.com/invite/arelith

And here is more #DnD art from Arelith, just because. From the Arelith Load Screen Project, by @omiosures.bsky.social It's an Umberhulk! (We have a lot of those...)

With recent events we may be getting more eyes here, so taking opportunity to mention that in addition to Arelith and other PWs, NWN has a huge catalogue of community made, single player modules. Entirely free (for owners of NWN), and often with great reviews. forums.beamdog.com/discussion/6...

Neverwinter Nights multiplayer server Arelith has been chugging along happily for 22 years - and just topped its record player concurrency @arelith.bsky.social

Well, that's a record; in all of our 22 years - 380 concurrent players online. We don't use shards or instancing, so these characters were all sharing one single setting. It goes a long way to creating an immersive #DnD #RPG environment. I am told the dwarves were having a coronation tonight.

So I either just had a pleasant morning walk through the nearby woods, or suffered a near-death experience.

My Neverwinter Nights module is ready: Wrath of the Ratromancer! You have arrived in Stonedale City to find that it is being menaced by a wererat wizard known as the Ratromancer! Available on the Steam Workshop and on the Neverwinter Vault! Links in the reply below! #dnd #nwn #ttrpg #indiedev

New blog post where I discuss the Omios Ures combat system, and how it incentivizes players to think outside the box without ever telling them to do so. www.matheusgraef.com/blog/2025/1/16/how-to-make-combat-more-than-just-attacking

Just seven years since our last mention in PC Gamer, but here we are again, with a welcome link to our website. That NWN1 endures among so many players is as much a testament to itself, as it is a stinging critique of the direction taken by its successors. www.pcgamer.com/games/rpg/23...

Plenty of players tonight. Not bad for a non-commercial server. By comparison, D&D Online at 363 players, and 'Neverwinter' at 729. Without a dime of advertising budget, and ZERO mention ever from Wotc we hold our own. NWN (2002) at over 1000 across all its servers - bigger than both.

For many of our players Christmas is always a special time on Arelith. In that it isn't Christmas. (But we do have snow, with a festive splash of red) Art by @omiosures.bsky.social during his time as a player, inspired by Skal and its minotaurs. (Works on some fantasy card game or other now?)

A big update to our server has just gone live. It's rather special... #dnd nwnarelith.com/index.php/ne...

Back at the start of the year these guys listed us as the number one (ONE?!) online RPG in 2024 Now they've made a video of said list. Given we have near zero promotional reach this is great to see (though I'd have definitely chosen prettier gameplay videos...) www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RfZ...

Over at Ossian (My former employer), there's less than 3 days left for their Kickstarter to make a new Pathfinder Game. While I'm not involved this time around I was blown away by their video and concept. It's getting close and I really hope they make it. www.kickstarter.com/projects/oss...

I asked if any of our artists wanted to share any WIP for the server, so first off here are some new fur breeches and cuffs from contributor Aellowyn. #DnD Dressing up is a big part of the game, I admit.

Running a poll right now for our players as to just how much of a menagerie they'd like Arelith to become. It's exposed a bit of a division between those who want to move more towards the the wildness of 5e, and those who prefer a more grounded approach. forum.nwnarelith.com/viewtopic.ph...

Was at the Edinburgh Fringe last week, and among other things was keen to see 'Tartan Tabletop' but alas was only the one ticket left. Really it was the waiting for 'C&D' request from Hasbro comment on their flyer that struck a chord...
