Made some friends on the muddy yet revitalising South Downs today

Day off today so decided to walk from Hackney to Walthamstow Wetlands, essentially either canal/riverside or through green space all the way. Always amazed how much nature you can see in London without going further than Zone 3

Off the back of this pick, I've had the album version of Down Down on repeat for longer than I care to admit. Penning a letter to Francis Rossi to open the Quo vaults and release the 12 minute+ version that is hopefully kicking around to remedy the fadeout just as it starts getting transcendental

my daughter set up some sort of Peppa Pig summoning ritual

"So here we are in Two Thousand and Twenty Five..." the world has finally caught up to this dumb glam rock science-fiction Ballroom Blitz knockoff (complimentary)

Found this piece on lab-grown diamonds (which I had no idea was a thing) interesting, particularly around pricing a luxury item when resource scarcity can no longer inflate the cost but still maintain the symbolic "value" econ.st/40SJp5C (Gift Link, good for 5 clicks/7 days)

Holy Tongue Meets Shackleton early contender for best gig of 2025

My posting philosophy

"Many critics, fans, and college students have spent hours debating the serious question of what the worst album in the history of rock actually is. One listen to Attila would provide them with a definitive answer."

The Dreamies bag is empty but we persevere #cats

This may be the best electric Miles comp I’ve put together. Just 2 unrelenting hours of the nastiest jams you ever imagined. Bon appétit 🇯🇵

"Now I'm gonna tell the truth, We ain't got to fuss / I don't own a car, pimpin' ride the bus" 2025 needs to be the year of the Mannie Fresh revival

Major music news here -- Andrew Khedoori did a wonderful job with this project over the years, and it absolutely introduced me to many new or new-to-me names while also showcasing work by many continuing favorites. Worth a read, and worth a dive into the work!

Inspiring Monday evening at the British Library with Bette A. & Brian Eno discussing their new book "What Art Does: An Unfinished Theory". Lots of ideas flying around; some I'd considered before, many I hadn't.

Thanks Google 👍

Not really a fan of Conversations with Tyler but this interview with Joe Boyd is worth a listen - essentially just Boyd correcting Cowen and then rambling on with fascinating music anecdotes/history for an hour
