So. It has officially happened. I have been officially let go from my position at CDC. I wasn’t a probationary employee. I had stellar performance reviews every year. I’ll be ok. But please understand that many worked HARD to get into these positions and were doing great public health work.

The HHS Advisory Committee on Long Covid has been eliminated. This committee was formed in late 2023 and actually never met. By cutting it, the Administration is ensuring that they have no input within the Executive Branch from Long Covid patients, physicians, and researchers. #LongCovid

The more relevant Latin theological phrase is not ordo amoris, but libido dominandi - the lust for domination, a favorite phrase of St. Augustine's. Political spite, glee over the despair of others, "owning" others, trolling others, etc, are all born out of this impulse.

It was always apparent but now it's increasingly undeniable that all these 20-something DOGE employees were chosen not in spite of inadequate vetting but because they would not pass vetting. Trump & Musk chose the people who seemed the most willing to commit illegal acts on their behalf.

It’ll be crucial that we do not ignore what is coming out from disinformation publications such as these. We can ignore, say how it’s not scientific but they’ll communicate this to the public - and it’ll cause harm. Pay attention. Shift the narrative with clear evidence and accessible language.
