The Pennsylvania Opioid Misuse and Addiction Abatement Trust board has great power to oversee the spending of potentially billions in opioid settlement money paid by companies to settle claims over their role in the opioid crisis.

The positive news isn't all positive -- grateful for this perspective on the complications related to the decrease in drug overdose death

reading about #pity and #sympathy and just encountered the "directional" factor of these emotional reactions. Pity=one-directional (what is happening to you won't happen to me), sympathy=reciprocal (we are vulnerable to the same things). Thoughts? Agree/disagree?

Overdose deaths in the U.S. are going down. But don't forget to always, always check if the stat applies to all communities and demographics. Found near the end of the article: "Recent research noted the overdose deaths in Black and Native Americans have been growing disproportionately larger."
