I love retreating to the bedroom and reading a book, reading a chapter and just getting sleepy, then putting in a bookmark, rolling over and drifting off to sleep. Whether it is late at night, or mid afternoon, such a happy way to get tired and fall asleep.

I've ordered a Roland FP10 electric keyboard. I'm so excited. I used to play at school in the 80s/90s but haven't played one since then. I plan to use it with Rocksmith+ which has keys now, PianoVision VR on my Quest 3, and buy a few method books to learn. As well as keep learning guitar.

So i just did a full play through of American Pie - 55% difficulty - 100% speed. Bumped it up from 45%, and wow is it a lot faster with more notes. I had to skip the solos, took a while to learn those on the last difficulty. But i got an 88% accuracy score - not bad for day 1. Can't imagine 100%!

Wow, after a few weeks of playing American Pie in Rocksmith+ at 45% difficulty, i have bumped it up to 58%. Now this is hard. I slowed it down in the riff repeater to 80%, and am just able to play some of it. The patterns are familiar, will have to learn the new note combos. This gonna take time.

So i'm adding Nothing Else Matters by Metallica to my Rocksmith+ repertoire. In the past i have tried to learn this song, but my phrasing for the verses was always off, and i struggled to get the solos right. Glad to say i still have muscle memory for the finger picked chords. We'll see how it goes.

I got my amp out tonight and played some Rocksmith+ without the Realtone cable. The phone is not as good note at detection, so the scores aren't reflective of how well you are doing, but it sounds damn good! Zero latency, and much richer sound. Lets you know if you sound like crap or alright! 😂

I just Watched War of the Rohirrim on a giant cinema screen on my Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. I was using my PC sound so got the benefit of my surround sound system. Such an enjoyable experience, and the movie was pretty good too!

So the guitar practice with Rocksmith+ is going well. Nearly 4 weeks in and i find i am picking up the Strat for two sessions per day now. A sober one mid afternoon, and one with beers later in the evening. I do better in the sober sessions, but have a bit of fun in the beer sessions.

So i've pumped up the difficulty of American Pie in Rocksmith+ from 34% to 44%, and it has gone from a lazy strum and twang along to quite a fast paced piece. Not sure my ageing brain can cope lol, but i will keep at it. I've also started Learning Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison.

New patch for Civ 7! v1.01 Patch 2. It fixes my biggest complaint which was that the game length for Marathon speed and Long Ages was way too short. About to jump into a new game and test it out.

I've been playing Civilization VII all weekend and i've learnt a few things 1. Don't do Marathon game speed. It's not balanced right even on the longest age length, you won't be able to complete objectives. 2. Epic game speed/long age length is awesome! 3. The game is FUN 4. Just one..more..turn

I've played through 2 games of Civilization 7, and i really enjoy playing. There's a lot of new things to learn. The key to victory is the Legacy paths in all three ages, these determine your age score. You can also win by meeting victory conditions, or domination. I won my 1st game and lost my 2nd.
