It's the Kusong Tank Factory PUG, aka the Machine Plant Managed by Ho Chol Yong. 40.0562, 125.222°

Defenses aren’t as good as people think but also conventional ballistic missiles aren’t accurate enough/large enough to do much damage at these ranges. This captures both dynamics, the Israelis missed the missile and the missile missed the airport.

Very great on Trump’s Iran deal plans, with Aaron Stein and Jeffrey Lewis. @aaronstein1.bsky.social @armscontrolwonk.bsky.social www.armscontrolwonk.com/archive/1220...

Honestly this is just incredible content.

Rubio dual-hatted as SECSTATE and APNSA -- aka a "reverse Kissinger." Kissinger stayed APNSA for Ford after becoming SECSTATE in Sep 73. He was dual-hatted until Nov 75 but it was pretty dysfunctional.

Also, this is more evidence of something we see in the DPRK. Kim Jong Un seems to sincerely love children.

There are a TON of interesting photos from the launch of the new DPRK warship, but most interesting to me is that I've never seen the senior leadership's children.

I mean, it boosts, coasts and reenters like a duck ...

As @armscontrolwonk.bsky.social and my colleague @lauraegrego.bsky.social explain, Golden Dome and Israel's Iron Dome couldn't be more different. One has limited capabilities against relatively slow, close-range attacks. The other is complete fantasy. @gbrumfiel.bsky.social covers it well here:

👋

At the Carnegie nonproliferation conference and IAEA chief Rafael M. Grossi spent a bit of time making the case for nuclear-propulsion in commercial shipping. Really interesting.

Jimmy Action has entered the fray.

FWIW, while @generalmatter.bsky.social is cagey about its enrichment technology, the trademark application is lists, for goods and services, "chemical enrichment to separate isotopes." tsdr.uspto.gov#caseNumber=9...

The @anduriltech.bsky.social / Palantir / @spacex.extwitter.link "golden dome" proposal is apparently just a tracking layer (ie. the sensors, not the shooters.) It's a proliferated version of the old SBIRS-low/STSS constellation, which is potentially a good idea. www.reuters.com/business/aer...

This is a nice illustration of how satellite instruments work -- you can see that there are three lower resolution color bands (red, blue, green) and a higher resolution panchromatic band (monochrome).

I will not do better and you should block me before I transgress again.

This is exactly what happened with North Korea. Bush abandoned the 1994 Agreed Framework because it had "Clinton" on it, promised a better deal, then settled for a much worse one in the Six Party Talks. Still, better than the alternative.

The ACW podcast with @aaronstein1.bsky.social and yours truly is now available as a video podcast. We'll get better -- but probably not less ugly. youtu.be/GyFcSmm_4vc

Can't wait to heat Ankit's talk. In the meantime, I made him sign a copy of his book.

It would be really funny if eventually Minuteman-III will get another LEP. www.bloomberg.com/news/article... #NukeSky

Here is Kim Jong Un horsing around with Jo Yong Won at the Central Cadres Training School during a theory lecture. Jo is the senior party secretary so the joke is something like teasing the most senior party official (other than Kim himself) about whether he's taking good notes in a 101 class.
