I came out this morning and found this flyer on my Honda Odyssey. Just because I own a Honda doesn't mean I condone the man's actions or agree with all of his political beliefs, and I'm a little offended at the idea that I should be held responsible.

One time for work, I had to take a Robert McKee screenwriting seminar. One of the rules of screenwriting he laid out was that dreams can't provide new information that is also true. It's pretty useful to think of ChatGPT the same way.

it's amazing how well this sums up what a psychotic idiot sam altman is. it's all right there in one tweet

how are field trip permission slips still asking for your child's PHYSICIAN'S PHONE NUMBER. are you living in a fucking fantasy world

Here's a beautiful story about the power of trolling: not only am I still getting email about stupid shit I wrote well over 20 years ago, it's now affecting the lives of people who weren't even born yet when the original trolling occurred

back when i worked at an anime company and had never watched any anime (almost unbroken winning streak on that to this day) i wrote a list of fake anime titles for some reason or another and one image that has never left my mind is an anime called "ROBO BATHROBE NO GENE HACKMAN"

offering a heartfelt "RIP bozo" to actor Chris O'Dowd

The Billionaire Times, The Billionaire Post & The Billionaire Chronicle, all owned by Magnate Q Moneybags, are running pro billionaire propaganda and censoring anti billionaire voices. ah well i'll keep writing for/subscribing to them because (unintelligible) BUT i'll also post the bad stuff they do

I'm worried that the increasing use of generative AI technologies in songwriting might make people more forgiving of an even greater insult to the human spirit: the use of Max Martin in songwriting

if your group chat is still named after a funny typo your friend made months ago, you need to get your shit together. if your friends aren't turning over funny enough typos to warrant a group rename every two weeks or so, maybe you should think about getting new friends

Daniel Blumberg of Yuck, as @arr.bsky.social recently informed me, is an academy award nominee for best original score for The Brutalist.

i think about this post at least once per month

@winterk.bsky.social a post of yours that i think about all the time but i've never been able to find is one where you say it's cool when squirrels optimize their fur (they freeze and scream for a few seconds and get all pixelated) I'm sure you have no recollection of this post

this stupid warning amulet won't stop glowing

Been wearing Jimmy fallons line of makeup for alcoholic men and everyone tells me how smooth and puffy I look. And happy. They pause for two seconds before adding that I look happy.

It would be interesting for me to get this job with the proviso I deliver all my lines in the very cruel Michael Barbaro impression I do when I hear this show on NPR while driving and frustrated with various other things. nymag.com/intelligence...

We all knew the guy in college who wore this shirt all the time

just got extremely startled by an image on craigslist

speaking of good posters

i worked at a ridiculous anime web site. when i first interviewed there the recruiter told me "one guy always shows up to work in a cape." i quit after seven years

This is the single biggest predictor of psychopathy online. I don't think it ever fails

Frankly it’s embarrassing how much George Orwell’s “1984” gets wrong about 1984. The publisher should update it to be more accurate, e.g. “Winston heard ‘Eat It’ by Weird Al Yankovic playing on the radio. ‘I’d hate to be Michael Jackson right now!’ he said to Big Brother”

i'd rather push a victorinox than drive a wenger

new symbol of comical fecklessness of opposition party just dropped

Was talking to a friend about David Lynch and appreciated for the first time how nice it is that I don't care if movies make sense and I don't care if I leave with questions instead of answers. I love not knowing stuff and have zero interest in figuring it out. I want a movie to just happen to me.

currently enjoying "The Genius's Vacation" (when you accidentally do a really stupid operation on a huge excel file and you just have to walk away and get a coffee while it does the spinning wheel of death for 15 minutes)

Ugh don’t you hate when your God-given right to make big money giving uninformed opinions on YouTube gets squashed just because you accidentally keep saying offensive and untrue things? What has this world come to.
