Can’t help but think the sport failed Loris Karius. Had such a promising start to his career and was let down through a lack of mental support. Great to hear he had a strong debut for Schalke.

Can’t believe I have to say this but agents for the love of everything please do not cold call me in the middle of the night to recommend a GK for a Europa League level club when the GK couldn’t hold a contract in the amateur level. Have some decency and respect.

Bayern are reportedly in on Jonas Urbig (FC Köln), who is 2nd on my list of U23 goalkeepers in Germany and probably in my top 15 U23 gks globally. Inspired by the work of Fabian Otte and the teachings of Hans Leitert, I looked at the 661 chances through the first 8 Bundesliga matchdays to look at shot difficulty and how it impacts the chances of a shot being held. With just 30% held, should it change our perception GK handling? (1/2)
