Thread from @chrisgeidner.bsky.social on today's two filings by the government in the case over Kilmar Abrego Garcia —>

Urge your members of Congress to support the SSI Savings Penalty Elimination Act now! This bipartisan bill would raise the SSI asset limit for the first time in nearly 40 years, allowing people who rely on SSI to save money and be ready for financial emergencies. bit.ly/3ZdLQhW #UpdateSSI

TOMORROW YOU WILL GRAB THE SUN WITH BOTH HANDS AND DEVOUR IT. FOR NOW DO YOU NEED TO CLEAN YOUR GLASSES?

Two things are simultaneously true: 1) There are multiple organized operations to artificially manipulate social media sentiment active at any given moment; 2) The asshole you just encountered has a very low chance of being one of them and is probably just an asshole.

hey @chuckschumer.com what was that again about defying the Supreme Court

you would not know it from listening to republican politicians or the news or trump himself, but to the extent that trump is in danger of assassination from anyone, it's pretty consistently coming from the far right or the conspiracy wing

Ligia shared some of the workers in her crew harvesting brocolli near Santa Maria on this warm Spring day. Every farm worker has an assigned task such as cutting the brocolli, wrapping the vegetable, placing into the box or loading the trailer. #WeFeedYou

I'm not saying journalists should never interview admitted propagandists. There are journalistic reasons to do so. But if we do, we must be prepared to -- in fact it is our duty to -- challenge vociferously all unsubstantiated claims. Otherwise, we ourselves become propagandists.

Perioidic reminder that the reason you didn't see autistic people with intellectual disabilities on the street five decades ago was not because they didn't exist. It's because they were sent away to institutions and their parents were told to put away pictures of them.

I just want to tip my hat to the crack team of White House economists who were able to discover--in just a few short days--that the U.S. is dependent on China for smartphones, computers and semiconductors.

I'm so used to bar bathrooms with cutesy signs that I had to stop here and ask myself if I was a Mario or a Wario

Another remnant of 9/11 that Americans wanted because it mostly affected Arabs and immigrants

Kilmar Abrego García is alive. Bukele, President of El Salvador, visits the White House Monday. We need to keep the pressure on the Trump administration to bring Abrego García home. His family needs him, and he has not been charged with a crime in any country. www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

now this is the kind of human misery i can get behind

compounding what now

and i also don’t think there needs to be a test for who’s “human enough” even assholes who hate me deserve basic human rights, even if i think they should suffer a terminal wedgie for the rest of their life

i do not think the mainstream press is equipped or capable of covering ideological white nationalists and eugenicists as such, or even capable of noting that this is what they are. it is related to the wide belief that racism is simply a matter of manners.

lot of the younger folks won’t know this but it used to be that if you yanked hard enough on a land line telephone you could pull the phone out of the person’s hand that you were talking to
