I've had it for a while, but I got official merch of a character I voice (the game is on an interim too!). Little milestone I thought I'd be more excited to share on social media, but now that it's happened... I'm kinda content that it's just a thing for me 🥰

The author's request for comment went to spam and this was published without it. When I replied, the author was out of office. So in the interest of saving time, here is my full response:

Do you want to stay up-to-date about the latest news from the SAG-AFTRA Negotiating Committee? Tim Friedlander, President of NAVA, will be moderating this discussion with Sarah Elmaleh, Zeke Alton, and Crispin Freeman. Get updated info on where negotiations stand! https://buff.ly/4bcNnec

I’d like to take time here to clear up some big common misconceptions about recording from outside the US for a SAG project. As someone who has recorded a LOT of union sessions over the last few years entirely from Canada, I have knowledge that might be helpful for folks, so

I've been able to get previously NU only games onto Union contracts (some even before the strike) in order to keep working. It's not too different of a dispute! It's especially helpful to actors now if devs are willing to have that conversation. 🧡

just to be clear, this is exactly the same kind of dispute: being willing or unwilling to provide commonsense protections to your actors. more than 160 games that had never used union contracts before are now using either the Interim or Tiered Budget Agreements. Supergiant is no different.

www.eurogamer.net/bobby-kotick... The trauma, discrimination, and abuse that our coworkers and former coworkers endured is not fake or a "plan to drive union membership". Our unions were born from the very real and harmful way executives reacted when made aware of these situations.

Is it a jrpg if there’s no demon lord as the final boss?

Link is in the comments! Please, if you are a video game voice actor in any capacity, make time for this. Really important information regarding the state of the strike, and WHY it is vital for the strike to continue 🧡

Switch games taste better fresh

It has been 194 days since @sagaftra.org actors started striking video games. In that time, we have signed over 150 games to Interim agreements, proving that our demands are more than reasonable. But the bargaining partners still refuse to give us anything more than lip service. (cont'd)

If you're feeling like auditions are sparse right now: It's the start of the year… In the middle of a critical-priority strike… Coming out of a lengthy period where very little prelay animation was being greenlit… With an absurd volume of layoffs in both gamedev and animation. So…no, it's not you.

They might be willing to sign an AI rider, but… what’s stopping them from signing an interim, or better yet, reaching a deal? That’s my #1 red flag 🚩
