Gonna plug the Patreon since the Yankees will play a baseball game today (!). Today's post has thoughts on ... - Boone's extension - latest spring news (injuries, etc.) - spring storylines - mailbag questions ... and a bunch more. Link: www.patreon.com/posts/februa...

Happy to be proven wrong, but color me skeptical that "the Yankees have offered prospects, none ranked among their top 30 in MLB Pipeline’s top 30" for Kyle Tucker.... www.nj.com/yankees/2024...

Wrote a quick thing at the Patreon about what the Yankees should do now. The post is unlocked and free to read: www.patreon.com/posts/plan-b...

This is great

It's only been a week but full credit to @cdgoldstein.baseballprospectus.com's BP subscription push. I never stopped consuming the baseball games, but I have not been this excited to read league-wide (non-Yankees specific) baseball writing in a very long time

Beltran was a great player + checks all the HOF boxes. But if the standard is anyone who cheated, confirmed or otherwise, can't be in, then, as an acknowledged cheater, he can't be. And, if you think Beltran was unfairly singled out, then fine, let's just say no '17/'18 Astros are eligible.

Hal hadn’t survived three Thanksgivings by being stupid.

I missed @ken-rosenthal.bsky.social's column on it, but this really draws out the issues with the current IFA/Sasaki situation. Good on him for betting on himself, by not waiting until he was older than 25, but it makes no sense why he is part of the same $$ pool as 16 years old from Latin America

My one constructive criticism on BlueSky, as a community: we need to “like” less and “retweet” more. In the absence of an algorithm, that’s the way we find each other and reward good content.

If Steinbrenner wasn’t suspended in the early 90’s, does the late 90’s dynasty happen?

If there was a way to clear this many ASU students off of the field quickly the Waste Management Open would have discovered it by now

I'm stealing this from @mikeaxisa.bsky.social, but I cannot get over that Juan Soto is four months younger than AL Rookie of the Year Luis Gil

This is a great read

There are going to be a lot of appreciations of Rafael Nadal, and rightly so, but my biases aside I think this one is pretty astounding. defector.com/rafael-nadal...
