This is correct, but I also don't think that a bunch of Canadian elites actually get it, either. I really don't think Pollievre gets it, and I would be dubious if Carney would get it if he didn't have smart people in his ear (but maybe he's better than his financial pedigree implies...)

My daughter & I just had a great time spitballing about how things would work if Minnesota were to join Canada. ✓ Very good news for hockey players. ✓ Solution to a number of Great Lakes concerns. ✓ Time zone in Kenora will make more sense. (and more pressure on Thunder Bay to move to Central Time)

This is the clearest photo ever taken of Venus. 🔭 🧪

I love my job. I get questions like this from high school students. They make my day.

VERY wet ride on the feet, on the way in, and I forgot to pack extra socks. Well, I'm in a high school physics lab - I can do something about that...

I love rugby. I enjoy rugby 7s. ...But man, the HSBC SVNS website is horrific to navigate. Seriously, even if you're not a fan of rugby - take a look at this dumpster fire: www.svns.com/en Try to find, say, the time & date of the next match.

Best certificate ever. It's a certificate that says "CERTIFICATE" on it!

@rich.lafferty.ca FYI.

@cira.ca Hi - I was searching a domain name based on my family name, and I was told that "The domain morton.ca is restricted and can't be registered." Can I ask - how does this happen? Is there a history to this specific domain name or does it somehow fall into a restricted category?

Very proud of my kid: * Turned 13 today. * Was allowed to "upgrade" her Google account due to birthday. * Read their privacy policy. * Said "This is trash." (Direct quote.) * Chose to stay with the more limited account, and seek another email provider.

Christmas morning in my hometown.

Vancouver, as I primarily experience it.

Lauren D-H is really smart almost all the time, but this is a particularly insightful thing. I recommend reading the thread - how professional progressives are so easily twisted from pragmatism to compromise to capitulation because they're used to systems working, and don't "get" bad actors.

Wait, what?

I strongly agree with this point. I'm a Green, and I strongly support both conservation and Indigenous sovereignty. BUT that doesn't mean they're always the same thing AND it means that I, not being Indigenous, don't get to be the one who says whether they align in a specific situation, or not.

No, Canada is not always better than the US. But, you know, sometimes... www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

I'm at my Rugby club's awards banquet, and there are so many heart-warning things happening. A great one was the Men's Div 2 player of the year - father and son nominated for the same award. ... But I think my favorite was when the whole adult club cheered on the U14 girls' player of the year.

I'M SO TEMPTED... events.viewbid.ca/Event/LotDet...

Sorry for a bragging skeet, but I've been doing adult beginner gymnastics for three years, and I LANDED A BACK FLIP today! Also, I am still 45 years old, so I just about threw my back out going up the steps to get back into my house, but hey, I'm still feeling pretty awesome.
