RIP Lynne Marie Stewart :(

Rutger Hauer was one of those actors who was handsome in an almost otherworldly way.

Here’s your morning mood, courtesy of Hari Ren.

Imagine having so much money that you can travel anywhere, buy anything you want, feed hungry kids…but instead of doing that, all you do is try to hurt people. What a fucking cruel, sad loser you’d be if you did that, right?

Earnest post, but: a thing I like here is it’s okay to have moments of happiness in public without being broadly scolded, and I believe that sustaining this kind of humanity will be very important as we resist fascism. We have to sustain each other. Making joy isn’t denial, it’s how we will survive

this old man is now smaller than the random fantasy people he helped create

some roger dean for you

Did you know that the USPS delivers 44% of the world's mail and is a critical part of our infrastructure? #weloveusps

Build up a supportive, close community of fellow writers! This is the best way to discover who to kill and eat so you can gain their precious, valuable writerly powers. You'll be leveling up in no time!

This one is such a comfort film for me. Stern british actors wandering around a charming little island, giving little speeches about "what has science wrought?!" in between getting their bones liquified and sucked out by The Horrors (a weird tortoise-shell thing with a tentacle). I love this movie.

Getting to play cowardice and stupidity in the world of David Milch’s DEADWOOD is one of the bigger gifts an actor could receive and he didn’t squander his. And then there are the John Carpenter movies. RIP.

Hunting dragons ❤️‍🩹

Someone asked: "So... public domain cosmic horrors that aren't Lovecraft. What do we got?" The tradition that gave us Lovecraft & co. is rich and deeply weird. While they aren't all cosmic horror, they all informed it. So. 1 like = 1 public domain weird story that isn't by H. P. Lovecraft.

Great thread

Thought I was being clever in Caves of Qud when I found a spider that technically existed on another plane of existence so I used a tonic to make myself exist on another plane of existence so I could squish the extradimensional spider EXCEPT

I'm still in awe (complimentary) that the title "Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii" made it to store shelves.

I'm looking forward to digging into Pirate Yakuza action at some point, but tonight for a feature, I've been revisiting my first ever piratical game. One still as golden as all the rich stuff in One-Eyed Willy's hidden treasure. 📺: Sid Meier's Pirates, MicroProse, 1987/90 (Amiga version)

y'all..........criminal

Nobody needs to know what dipshit pundits are thinking or saying. Please stop showing me. The garbage juice doesn't need any help leaking out of the bag.

If there's no postal service or public school or social security or art/research grants or national parks or public transit or infrastructure maintenance or welfare for the poor/disabled...what are we even paying fucking taxes for?

why is it so difficult for people to believe that if someone consistently lies about things that don't matter, they will consistently lie about things that DO matter?

My youngest and his mate have finished their viking attack diorama - i think it's come out really well! #spreadthelard #diorama

The Daughters' War (the one on the right) by @buehlmeister.bsky.social got published a few days ago in Hungarian, and I'm immensely proud of it as its translator. So dark, and so heart-wrenchingly beautiful. 🖤

Every time you see someone express awe at the capabilities of so-called AI, remember that the most popular show in America was The Big Bang Theory for like six years running.

Just got an email from a Hennepin County Librarian and they're cataloging Grief Rituals, so that's pretty fucking cool. Also, Grief Rituals, a book I wrote that you should read! weirdpunkbooks.square.site/product/grie...

If your writing didn’t matter, they wouldn’t be going after our books and our stories and desperately trying to rewrite them and/or destroy them. Language is power.

There is a thing that's happening. A book release party for my... book!? If you happen to be near Baltimore on March 11.

I logged out of social media for a few weeks and, amazingly, in spite of all my previous anxieties, the world continued to keep on keeping on. Sometimes it's okay not to consume every piece of news on the internet. In fact, it's probably healthier.

THE BUTCHER OF THE FOREST by @premeemohamed.com is so fuckin good, man. Scary, nasty, heart-wrenching, cool dark fantasy.
