Are business cards still an essential purchase for solopreneurs? I feel like most people ask me for my IG these days. Let me know your thoughts in the replies.

not Kendrick putting out the whole superbowl performance on Spotify 😮‍💨

Looking for music producers based on the East Coast with their instrumentals/beats available on Spotify. Let’s connect!

Nothing like nap time after a productive day.

Who else has a newsletter they’re publishing? I just started my own and would love to follow along with others in the space!

Maybe it’s my values as an introvert, but some folks are far too excited for TikTok to be back online. Unfortunately, their celebration may be premature; Trump isn’t the one who banned it, he’s going to have to fight with congress to get this done.

I’m looking for beta testers for a small AI project I’m working on - here’s who I’m looking for: - independent musician - isn’t afraid of some sweat equity - is planning on releasing music in the next 3 months No sales pitch, just need volunteers.

BlueSky is making a photo sharing app and I’m all aboard this train. Photogs haven’t had a great place to share their stills since several large corporations all decided we as users wanted to use TikTok instead of the apps we signed up for. Thoughts?

I am so appreciative of the folks I’ve worked with in the past year. I just launched my newsletter last week and had 50 people signup in 2 days. Not a crazy number, but I appreciate everyone regardless. If anyone else wants to join the party, the next update goes out today: Ashthephotog.com/links

Setup a twitter account to read a couple threads that were sent to me - without ever following him or anyone else, I immediately started getting notifications from Elon Musk about nothing in particular. Uninstalled 🙄

I’m desperate - how do I stop all these spam texts coming in? Over 100 different messages received this weekend alone. Mostly political trash

I love Spotify, but the idea they might replace real indie artists with cheap, anonymous tracks is upsetting. Indie artists deserve a platform they can trust, not one that undercuts them while claiming to support discovery. This industry needs transparency.

For an outstanding example of music biz reporting — and the inescapable sense that what happens in music often has implications for society in general — read @lizpelly.bsky.social's "The Ghosts in the Machine: Spotify’s plot against musicians" in @harpers.bsky.social.

Don’t say “I’m broke” - instead try… “Q1 cash flow is underperforming. I project the need for another cash infusion to tie up loose ends and ensure operational efficiency in upcoming quarters.”

Reading a lot of feedback on Beyoncé’s HT performance yesterday. Crazy to see such an outpour of vitriol over a genre classification. If it’s not country music then what is it?

It’s looking like my 2025 is shaping up to be heavy on the community development and non-profit collaboration. who knew so many non-profits wanted to host concerts!?!?

Finding trustworthy contractors is far more difficult than I could have ever imagined. Seeing some of the second shooters try to steal my established clients and engaging in self promotion on the job is just exhausting at this point. And yet, I can’t do these projects alone 😪

Photographs from our prior three Open Mic Jam Sessions at the Wilmington Public Library are available on my website: ashthephotog.com I love shooting these smaller more intimate community events. The performers always give a good show too. Next event is Jan 8th!

Latest sign that I'm middle aged: getting nostalgic for those tracks on rap albums griping about the fact that radio stations wouldn't play their music.

Book bans are escalating, with 128 bills in 29 states designed to restrict people's access to books and deny them the right to read. Thank you to @lernerbooks.bsky.social for helping us raise money to fight back and helping get the word out! www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topic/...

Bluesky is what Twitter would be if the $44 billion went to therapy instead
