Your brain doesn’t just passively track time ⏳ - it structures it. In @Science.org we show that activity in 🧠 memory circuits (LEC) drifts constantly, but makes sharp jumps at key moments, segmenting life into meaningful events. (1/2) 👉 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

The incoming solar storm is approaching Earth & depending on how fast the solar wind is we'll get an hour or so's warning. How do we know? We have a satellite in L1 position (space where the gravitational forces of two massive bodies like the Sun and Earth balance out) & it sends the signal to us.

Dear researchers. If a journalist contacts you because they're reporting on your study and have questions/need clarifications, please don't ignore them. If you're too busy, or they need to go through other channels, let them know. Or the story will get written anyway-- without your insight.

We knew China's rush to install solar and wind was going to be wild but WOW😮. The solar panels & wind turbines China installed in May alone, in a single month, will generarate as much electricity as: -Poland -Sweden -Norway -the UAE -North Carolina&Maryland or -Washington&Wyoming

To people in public health. Campaigns need to focus on describing the symptoms of the disease the vaccines protect against. Plus personal stories of individuals who have been affected by the diseases either themselves or their families. People have no clue what the diseases and their risks are like.

Franklin Schneider has never owned a smartphone. And based on the amount of social and libidinal energy they seem to have sucked from the world, he’s not sure he ever wants to, he writes:

Been growing a tomato plant in a pot in the bedroom for most of the winter. The odd tomato appeared a few weeks ago. Today I harvested a bumper crop! It took a LONG time for the plant to do much. Next winter: a better grow light.

Did you know that some microbes like to feast on oil? This is an old story, but fun to revisit. Certain microbes could be used to help with oil spill clean-up. Another angle is some microbes live inside oil pipelines where they cause blockages in the pipes, or corrosion. www.cbc.ca/natureofthin...
