Today in US History: On Feb. 3, 1870, the 15th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution was ratified, granted black men the right to vote. It was passed by Congress on February 26, 1869. Black Americans were set free by the 13th amendment. The 14th Amendment guaranteed citizenship. #BlackHistoryMonth

Here’s the little bird I rescued. He was going to be an owl snack…but I just couldn’t let that happen. 🤷‍♀️

This little screech owl was after a bird that had flown inside our pool enclosure. He was trying to catch him through the screen. I rescued the bird and put him outside the front door in a palm tree and when I went back to check on where the owl was I realized he too flew inside the enclosure now!

Look at this handsome guy! I received a BirdBuddy for Christmas and it’s by far one of the best gifts I’ve ever gotten. In full disclosure, it’s actually more of a Squirrel Buddy, but I do get the odd feathered friend who stops by for dinner…like this rockstar!

Did you know that we have wild monkeys in Florida? Here’s a couple we met while hiking at Silver Springs. They are mean and carry herpes (the kind that kills humans 💀)…trying to pet them or catch them is not recommended. LOL!!!!
