Was literally just teaching this hack to someone yesterday. Most chores are mindless and that’s part of why our brains reject them. But, if you turn on an audiobook, and make the chore your idle activity, you’ll usually get a lot more done.

The ease with which an indie author can publish themselves and look just as legitimate as a house-published author is something I greatly admire from Amazon. And, Amazon as a business IS problematic, BUT… it gives indie authors a chance. Keep that in mind when you make your boycotting decisions.

Wherever possible please buy your books directly from authors and/or publishers. Even ebooks (then Amazon can't delete them either). We make a better cut and you get the same thing or better, plus Bezos and ilk don't get richer. Win win win.

My stance is firmly within the realm of: isn’t the point to consume the information within the book? Why does it matter how? Not to mention that saying, ‘listening to an audiobook doesn’t count as reading,’ is incredibly ableist. Any way you read is valid. Just enjoy your books! #BookSky 📚💙
