Wow. Just today shared the 36"-main break in Skokie with CEE 350 Water Resources Engineering. And now this 54"-main break in Southwest Detroit.

Friends, today is a great day to backup your files.

Fans of Sankey diagrams: This is a good read on water-energy interdependencies. Energy-water interdependencies across the three major United States electric grids: A multi-sectoral analysis, by Mongird, Rice, Oikonomou, and Homer www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti... #PaperPerDay

The Stillwell Research Group website got a bit of a refresh, including the people page. It's so wonderful to work with great people. stillwell.cee.illinois.edu/people/

Implications of different income distributions for future residential energy demand in the U.S. (2022), by Sampedro et al. in IOP Environment iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1... #PaperPerDay

It's nice to sit down and read an interesting journal paper again. My to-read folder is... large.

Not the outcome we hoped for, but still a great season. Horns up, always. 🤘🏻

Shoutout to whoever owned this used book before me. The notes you left brought me joy.

#HappyHanukkah, friends. May we all experience the miracle of light.

Stillwell Research Group at AGU! SRG@AGU While I'm not attending #AGU24 this year, three of my students are presenting. Check out their work! Zahra Heydari, poster Wed 8:30-12:20 Hassaan Khan, poster Wed 8:30-12:20 Laura Gray, oral Fri 14:58-15:10

It's that time of year when I offer extra credit to students in my Water Technology and Policy class for making memes reflecting something they learned in class. The memes that follow are shared with student permission. (1/n)

Shoutout to everyone posting about AGU. It's great to follow along with you on social media.

Where do the steam tunnels run? Right there.

Love through music 🤘🏻👍🏻 www.espn.com/college-foot...

Oh, data viz 🤓🥰 I-L-L

In teaching water resources engineering, I try to get my students to observe the infrastructure around them. Today this smooshed stormwater inlet caught my eye.

4 years ago, I wrote an editorial about the utility of Twitter for science/engineering engagement, mostly in response to a conversation with other associate editors where I defended Twitter as useful. Lately I've been thinking how that editorial didn't age well. ascelibrary.org/doi/full/10....

An excellent read!

Starting over here with the bluer skies was a great chance to look through who I was following at the other place. Hello, friends.
