Back to my normal book review posting today with The God of the Woods. I really wanted to like this book because so many people reviewed it so highly, but at the end of the day it was just an ok read for me. I honestly probably would have dnfed it if it wasn't a book club read. #booksky

Today I present to you the last TJ Alexander book review: their upcoming release. I was so thrilled to get an arc of this. If you are looking for a sweet, funny, slightly angsty trans regency romance then this book is so for you! #booksky

I’m so tired y’all. The combination of reading a horror book (Blood On Her Tongue) before bed and the creature scratching around in my bedroom wall all night equaled a terrible night’s sleep 😭

More TJ Alexander reviews this week! Today we have Triple Sec, a polyamorous romance. This is TJ Alexander’s fourth book, but the very first book of theirs that I read. I read it for a book club and loved it so much I knew I needed to read everything by TJ Alexander! #booksky

Just had to share this magnificent bag I got today from @allshewrotebks.bsky.social I also got A Long Walk from Gaza and Recognizing the Stranger #booksy

Happy Valentines Day! Today we are wrapping up this post series with my favorite form of love to read about, which I think can be romantic, familial, or platonic as well: pragma, meaning enduring love. To me, pragma is the pinnacle of love. (1/2)

Went to the dentist this morning and in the weird way my brain works I suddenly remembered one of my favorite books growing up (one of the characters is a dentist): Remarkable by Lizzie K Foley. So that’s my random book recommendation of the day #booksky

Onto the cutest form of love today: Ludus, or playful love. These books are predominantly YA romances because Ludus also refers to young love. So these books have young people having a playful relationship with falling in love. (1/2)

Happy Monday! Back to this rec series this week. I present to you Mania, or obsessive love. These books examine love in its most toxic, all consuming, dangerous form. They are also all amazing books that I highly recommend. #booksky

Here are short reviews for the short stories I read last weekend. Conflict Mediation is still living rent free in my head! #booksky

Here are some amazing books with trans characters and/or authors. Reminders: Trans people have always been here and always will be. Trans women belong in sports, and all trans people have a right to gender affirming care and medicine #booksky

Just finished my first #booksky recommendation and it was amazing! Thank you @discobooks.bsky.social for posting about Sistah Samurai by @obeytheauthor.bsky.social and bringing it to my attention. It was phenomenal!

A bit late with these but here are some recs for Black History Month and every month #booksky

Realized I never posted this. Here are my February hopefuls. I’ve already read Serial Killer Support Group and I’m currently reading The Bluest Eye #booksky

It’s officially February! Which means I'm ready to introduce y'all to my second most read author of 2024 and new favorite romance writer: @tjalexandernyc.bsky.social They write such beautiful stories with so much queer love and joy, and I have adored everything they've written

Wanted to read something cute on the train and hit the jackpot with @authordcemerson.bsky.social short stories! I highly recommend both Conflict Mediation and You’re Ours, and I look forward to reading more of their work. Looks like I might have a new favorite author!

Absolutely flew through this book! I really enjoyed it

Happy February! Starting this month with Serial Killer Support Group, a dark queer thriller by Saratoga Schaefer. It has a very strong concept and opening so far

Finished my current read! And therefore declaring January over. Here is my January reading wrap up!

I’m about halfway through my current read, and I have a long train ride tomorrow. Can I get it finished by the end of the month? #booksky

For February I wanted to highlight books about love. In the past l've done romance tropes, favorite couples, etc. This year I wanted to do it a bit differently to recognize that there are many forms of love. So I've decided to create 6 posts based on types of love as defined by the ancient Greeks.

Took down my Christmas tree today! It’s almost February and therefore Valentines. To celebrate the month I will be posting book recs based on different types of love. I will also be highlighting my new favorite romance author @tjalexandernyc.bsky.social with reviews of all their books. Stay tuned!
