This is a confected non-story. However, much of the stuff going on in the blind spot of the camera is very revealing, particularly for certain positions. Tuchel has been to 17 matches already so it's not an issue. But only watching football matches on television would be less than ideal.

Not actually surprised by this. Put money on them when I saw how overpriced Atalanta were; Club Brugge are pretty experienced in early k/o stage. Plus, I've correctly predicted which team would progress in all but 3 knockout ties in the last two editions of the Champions League.

Given that I've seen some raving about Valverde I'm going to say this. Very good box-to-box player, physically dominant & an insane strike, obviously. But I think he's a touch overrated. He isn't amazing on the ball, technique lacks somewhat and he never quite convinces against elite opposition.

Mbappé isn't hitting anything cleanly atm. His flukey finish rather fitting. Don't think he is fully sharp (blazed high a really decent chance, sloppy touches) but was fun to watch when he had space to attack. The fact RM's makeshift defence held out better is indictment of Guardiola #ucl #mcirma

Maguire has been unfairly maligned over the years. Deceptively cultured on the ball. Passes very well over medium/long range and has the bravery to try even when receiver has marginal space. And, if anything, his defensive errors for Man Utd are a bonus.

Remember watching #TheCockfields on one of the obscure channels years ago and it now seems to have graduated onto iPlayer. Just finished the second series. It's quietly very enjoyable. Amusing with just the right note of pathos (while avoiding mawkishness), and even a hint of something darker.

It's fine for a cheap thrill but #thetraitors is quite flawed IMO. Groupthinking, Apprentice wannabes. Dull, irrelevant tasks. Tends towards a popularity contest. Lack of jeopardy for traitors. Incentive to remove the smartest early. But main flaw is that unless you're a traitor it's 95% luck.

I was so close to putting money on Dyche as next to go last week. Play awful football and underpeforming by 5/6 pts at this stage. But the paradox - take points in successive matches to Arsenal, Chelsea and Man City yet lost to So'ton, the most dismal PL team for 20 years.
