Pleased to report that this went really well. Worth the stressful 24 hours prior to delivering it. Engaged audience. Some good questions after. Applause. Kind comments. And - best of all - folk made notes while I spoke. I love when that happens.

Reverting to type, it looks like I’ll be cramming to fit in finishing my paper and slides for this talk right down to the wire. Damn you, real life, you cruel mistress. Anyone with spare good vibes, please send them my way…

@michaelshallcross.bsky.social’ project “Inscribing Pandemonium” is designed to be added to continuously. That’s quite different from the books researchers traditionally publish, which can imply they contain all there is to know about a particular area. #unfinished #unfinishing #academia #podcast

Now it’s time to prep for this one… 😮‍💨

One of the many things I love about reading/researching/writing is the discovery of new old things. E.g., @objectoriented.bsky.social blew the doors off philosophy for me back in August 2016, yet I only just found out about the existence of this OOO collection from the same year, *today*. #PhilSky

This is some sweet airy ambient noise from @transkafka.bsky.social. The best way I can describe it by way of ‘Airport Ketamine (Pt. 2)’ which sounds like if ‘Phase 3: Agni Detonating over the Thar Desert…’ by Earth began to glitch and slowly evaporate into nothingness.

Just received the proof copy for my next academic publication, forthcoming in @kronoscope.bsky.social, on subaltern temporalities and Jean-Luc Nancy’s “sonorous” realism. I hope the thrill of seeing my own words formatted to a journal’s style never fade. #PhilSky

I listened to this last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also available on other fascist-propping streamers…

Respect due and sincere congrats to @stephenroddy.bsky.social for this news. As a Nancy nerd, this project sounds fascinating and rich. And, AND, he’s releasing it on tape via the killer label, @fiadh.bsky.social. Brilliant stuff, dude. Looking forward to hearing this. A lot. (And highly envious!)

Is it just me or is Steve Malkmus (Pavement) slowly turning into GWF Hegel (German idealism)?!? 🤔 #PhilSky #Hegel #Pavement

🚨 Breaking News 🚨 Big first for me: the hard copy of the “Echinox” journal arrived this weekend, representing my first piece of academic writing in print. And in pole position no less. Thanks once more to @annakarlien.bsky.social (and all others involved) without whom this wouldn’t’ve happened! 🙏🏻

In an unlikely first I have finished my script and PowerPoint slides for this. With hours to spare. This is unheard of. I fear something has to go wrong… #CosmicPessimism

#Japanese #Philosophy “The Self-Revelation of Creation: Preparing the Way for an Interreligious Philosophy”   which will take place in hybrid form at the Institute for Religion and Culture of Nanzan University in Nagoya
January 23 (Thursday), 2025  16:00-18:00 pm (Japanese time)  Room 217

The centre has not held. RIP David Lynch. 🫡

We have a couple of articles on the @timeshighered.bsky.social which effectively serve as two parts of the same process, aimed at University departments, professional services etc. 1) How to get your department off X: www.timeshighereducation.com/campus/its-t... >>

In the last of today’s news, I’m pleased to report I’ll be delivering a paper entitled - '''Auditioning" the Apophatic: Gesturing Towards Divinity Through Me/ontologies of Sound' - next month as part of York St John University’s Centre for Religion in Society 2024-5 Research Seminar series. #PhilSky

I’m going to be presenting my paper - ‘Between Aether and Abyss: Cataphatic Sound, Apophatic Silence, and Divinity in Heidegger’ - at the European Centre for Heidegger Studies ‘Heidegger: In the Nearness of the Holy and the Divine’ international Zoom conference, on Sunday 26 January. #PhilSky

Today I learned that this proposal has been accepted to turn into a research paper for University of Leeds journal, “CePRA”. So I get to write about my own ‘grindgaze’ practice as HERMETIC ABYSS, alongside Bolt Thrower, Morbid Angel, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Brutal Truth, Khanate, and more #MetalSky

Review of Ancient Women Philosophers: Recovered Ideas and New Perspectives

"[His] friends were always telling him to stop giving away mixed game secrets. 'It was one thing that he researched everything and he was really excited about it, but he was just as excited about sharing that knowledge with everybody,' Kosinski said. 'That was him. He would share.'"

New podcast from @objectoriented.bsky.social.

I knew about the class Sun Ra taught at UC Berkeley in 1971, but for some reason I’d never listened to the recordings. Having a wonderful night ubusound.memoryoftheworld.org/ra_sun/Ra-Su...
