Something special for Black Girl storytellers is on the way. #Muse #BlackGirlWonderandCreate

I love challenging reads. As a writer and philosopher, I get excited when I have to read a passage several times, picking it over, finessing the author's intentionality over and over... This one, "Vexy Things" by Imani Perry, has risen to such occasion. Challenge accepted!

"You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have". - Maya Angelou

"I noticed many of these characters struggle with the hollowness of the success they’ve finally achieved. In each of these novels, women find it so hard to exist honestly within power structures and ideology—even when they have helped create them". @literaryhub.bsky.social strikes again! Bravo.

Spent the last two days reflecting on my limits as a writer. This poem captured the essence of contemplation. "Bye, won't be in touch..." How haunting.

"Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness". Desiderata, Max Ehrmann #poems #poetry

Spent time at Cambridge University presenting the research behind my forthcoming book, Iconoclast ... a creative nonfiction exploring archetypal themes of liberation with a focus on Black women and sacred text, such as the Gnostic Pistis Sophia. Thanks to @labrc.bsky.social I am rejuvenated.

I love this from @maggiesmithpoet.bsky.social. Bookmarked to reread when I reminder to edit out that which no longer serves me. www.wbur.org/cognoscenti/...

Black and feminist and creative and relevant. Writing nonfiction that merges by academic background as a researcher with carefully honed skills of observation seems to be my niche. The liberation of being informed and producing knowledge. Making connections and seeing patterns.

I have a list of removeteés...

Experimenting with free-write poetry. Follow my writing shenanigans on www.medium.com/@audreykeene My craft is weaving intricate stories of destabilizing the status quo of justice. Obsessing over the story hidden in every single transaction.

I mean, if Claudia says it is dazzling, who am I to argue?

"Stressed, distracted and with one tote bag out the door, I didn’t have the bandwidth to formulate a remorseful reply. “Oh, I would,” I said, breaking a manic typing streak, “but I don’t want to.” A pure response tends to get a laugh. So does a rare one: Honesty..."
