Do you see the man running into the woods? Or the dog running out of the woods?

I’d like to apologize to the person I just accidentally followed and then immediately unfollowed. It’s not you. I can’t speak Spanish. 😭

“There’s still this idea that news is only ‘real’ once it’s confirmed by big corporate outlets. After all, could one woman with absolutely zero institutional backing in leggings and a sweatshirt in her NYC apartment really be the one to break such an important story? Now we know the answer is yes.”

In 2014 Dutch scientists left a hamster wheel outside, to see if wild animals would use it like their domesticated counterparts. The answer: hell yes! 734 visits from wild mice - plus rats, shrews, slugs ("running" being subjective here) & even frogs and snails. The apparent reason: fun. Just fun.

These new assholes were able to organize national ICE raids in a week? These aren’t the same inept assholes from the last Trump admin. We’re in trouble.

Let’s do more of this -

First they came for the...... Well everyone. Like immediately. Fuck. -That Poem or Whatever

Whatever makes you weird is probably your greatest asset. Be your weird, beautiful, true self.

LA fires are a good reminder that the only difference between me and any refugee is luck.

The problem with being a textile historian with a speciality in quilting is that sometimes I get so in the head of the prior sewists I don’t know how to proceed with the project. Let me show you my current puzzle: a stack of 9-patch blocks of unknown provenance. #Quilting #History

I like the nuclear block functionality, but the sicko in me wants to see what I blocked when mutual’s start dumping on a post.

Great piece here. We're seeing the consequences of a system with no consequences. The oligarchy built a dehumanizing system where the only possible consequence for oppression is violence. We can't be shocked when it happens, or when people cheer that Fucking Around actually led to Finding Out.

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing. They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays. The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k. www.businessinsider.com/denver-basic...

What I’m currently enjoying about the Bluesky experience (especially with nuclear blocking) is that it’s like the best part of a summer evening on my front porch in a tight neighborhood. We hang out, have a chat, it’s nice. If you come to shit on my porch, though, out comes the garden hose.

God: *creating Eve from Adam's rib* Adam: That's a weird way to make people God: Lol wait till you see how she does it

Let me share my lifelong dream for the left: taking over fraternal organizations (Moose, Oddfellows, Etc.) They are 501c8s, which is basically impossible to get now. Most of them own property, they often have liquor licenses that are grandfathered in. We could have clubhouses!
