Great (and as always highly readable) analysis of both play and production by Hailey @bachrach.bsky.social!

Now it can be told! My adaptation of FOOL by @theauthorguy.bsky.social is having its world premiere this spring @7agestheatricals.bsky.social in Wisconsin, directed by @tomdigstheatre.bsky.social. They're an incredibly talented bunch so help me spread the word, won't you?

I liked A COMPLETE UNKNOWN; I just wish it'd been more like SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE. My latest for the @folgerlibrary.bsky.social. www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...

These folks up in Geneva NY seem like they've done quite well with our minimum opus "Completely Hollywood (abridged)"! Wish I could be there to say, "Oh, and Tony? Thanks." www.fltimes.com/arts_and_ent...

There's only one thing wrong with @katepitt.bsky.social's weekly Shakespeare News roundup: All the fantastic rabbit holes I invariably go down. Subscribe if you don't already! www.shakespearenews.com/p/romeo-and-...

Minor character?? How very dare you. niptuck.fandom.com/wiki/Marty_F...

Abraham Lincoln loved Shakespeare and invented stand-up comedy. I explain over @folgerlibrary.bsky.social. www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...

I like Bluesky cuz it’s text-based (and not owned by oligarchs) but every so often I like to show off a great pic, even though I can’t tag the photographer (Joe Mazza), my wife Dee, friend Amira, or theatre whose opening night of FRIDA we’re celebrating (Writers). Oh well.

Now I’m bummed my Gilmore Girls scene didn’t have any Shakespeare in’t.

Not a good sign that the page to sign up for Social Security has just said "Loading..." for the last 15 minutes, right?

Posting here, too, in case RT'ing over on Shitter gets my account deleted.

I wrote about the Oscar-nominated SING SING last summer for @folgerlibrary.bsky.social, alongside the Oscar-neglected GHOSTLIGHT, which deserved much more recognition than it received. www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...

Well of COURSE a meandering three hour and 20 minute movie would argue in its closing line that it’s the destination not the journey.

An excerpt from BOY by @nicolegalland.bsky.social, her hugely entertaining new novel about one of Shakespeare's boy actors. Out next month but available for pre-order now! I loved it.

Spending today making art and celebrating the art of others.

That's me, out of sight behind the camera, all the way back at the goddamn Lincoln Memorial, and it was glorious.

Apropos of nothing, I stumbled upon this Glamour magazine interview with my TV husband Ian Gomez, reminiscing about his Top 3 favorite FELICITY episodes, including our wedding. www.glamour.com/story/part-2...

This aged weirdly, mostly cuz it never occurred to me to cite examples of China mining our personal Shakespeare data. www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...

Thanks for being my 1100th follower, @garyrudoren.bsky.social! So glad it was you! #WhatsNext

I wrote about the charming Shakespeare & Hathaway for the @folgerlibrary.bsky.social, and am grateful to @esemple3.bsky.social for introducing me to the work of @lisahopkins.bsky.social, and discovering that a ‘cozy mystery’ is an actual thing. www.folger.edu/blogs/shakes...

You know what I loved about A REAL PAIN (aside from its performances, direction, and casting)? Its 89-minute run time! Very few stories need more than two hours to tell it. #ItsNotTheLengthOfYourMovieItsWhatYouDoWithIt

Now THIS is immortality. My @reduced.bsky.social partner and I being drawn by the great and good Mya Gosling, creator of the world’s greatest (and possibly only) Shakespearean stick-figure web comic GoodTickleBrain.com.

Not that it’s a competition but my two accounts here have achieved a singularity. #1056AndAllThat

@lauratfisher.bsky.social "Spicy about democracy" – and so much else! Welcome!

“I have been sexton here, man and boy, thirty years.” HAMLET #ShakespeareSunday @hollowcrownfans.bsky.social

Unasked-for unsophisticated thought, but still: In the days since seeing A COMPLETE UNKNOWN and NOSFERATU (on separate nights), my admiration for the former has only grown and my feelings about the latter are increasingly 'meh'.

Revisiting this brilliant 500Songs episode after watching James Mangold's A Complete Unknown makes me appreciate the film even more while wishing it had a different emphasis, and doubly-trebly grateful for the scholarship and storytelling of @andrewhickey.500songs.com. 500songs.com/podcast/epis...

Love this notion. I wonder if “Not Shakespeare: Bardolatry and Burlesque in the 19th Century” by @richardschoch.bsky.social would be useful? www.reducedshakespeare.com/2016/05/epis...

It’s beginning to look a lot like THISBE! Thisbe joined us just before Thanksgiving and we kept misgendering him, so we decided to lean into the confusion. His little soul patch reminded us of Flute’s line, “Nay, let me not play a woman. I have a beard coming.“
