Okay, this new short story is way, way, way too dark for its intended purpose, so I’ll have to brainstorm something more appropriate afterward. In the meantime, I’ll keep channeling Clive Barker.

Had to write a story under 10k. Finished this one at 9.5k. Now I just have to do it again for a different anthology. 😂 For someone who learned how to write while reading a lot of Stephen King books, this level of brevity is Herculean.
