Philly veg fest 👀👀

very cool that for ten years people at the heights of political commentary insisted to the point of rage that the paramount threat to free speech was “censorious” college students

if dems want messaging help, stop telling people you're "fighting back." it sounds like you're being mugged. call off the podcaster search, take your ridiculous money pile and try opening some food banks and free clinics. hurricanes are coming and the feds have no plan. looks like an opening to me.

Many things are fucked up rn but no one can take away the pure joy that is riding my bike around town on a nice day.

THEY ARE ARRESTING ELECTED OFFICIALS FOR PEACEFULLY OPPOSING THE REGIME’S ILLEGAL ACTIONS. DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO OVERWHELM YOU. THIS IS NOT NORMAL.

Sometimes I wish I could trade my nerd skills in for the skill set of fixing stuff irl. Just like general handiness. I'm not helpless or anything, but just so much less handy than my dad or any dad that I knew growing up.

I just de-cobwebbed a basement and it wasn't nearly as bad of a time as I was expecting. Not that it was a good time. It's just something I procrastinated for so long cause it's low key kinda scary down there lol

We had *delicious* sandwiches for lunch today. Small cubed tofu dressed in a homemade cashew mayo and seasoned to give an egg salad vibe. So damn good. Also cheap as hell. Sandwiches are incredible.

Dang the screen hinge of my laptop broke and now it’s not powering on 😭 It’s been a great laptop except for the plasticy brittle stuff that I figured would break sooner or later. But today is that day I guess.

I want to vote for someone like @katmabu.bsky.social asap. Seriously more like this!!

🔥 dang I can’t wait to get back to hacking on my gleam project with these updates to the compiler and tooling. It might be a few weeks for me but it looks really sick as hell

vegetables are so yummy

I'm still loving hacking on my gleam projects. Now that I'm "done" pointlessly optimizing my transport layer, it's time to actually build out my storage layer. I'm planning on doing the sqlite with litefuse thing and doing periodic backups.

hhmmmm the process as state pattern seems like a really good fit for sqlite replication, since you have such simple tools to control which processes will write to data stores. I'm considering trying it out in this gleam project. My previous attempts to use litestream ended up way over complicated.
