your outie uses git checkout -b rather than git switch -c

I really like Helix editor, what I can’t understand though is how come that a code editor in 2025 doesn’t have any option to highlight trailing whitespaces and remove them automatically. Why do I have to look for them in git diffs and get rid of them manually?

Started listening to Chinese songs a week ago. Nice sounds, but having a problem understanding what songs are about. Spotify doesn't allow to copy song and artists names so I'm out of luck with very little knowledge of Chinese characters to find and translate lyrics for them

I’m fortunate to have a call with the Bluesky backend team for an hour a week, and I’m continually blown away at how good they are at engineering their systems, how thoughtful they are about protocol design, and how smoothly they’ve been handling a huge influx of new users. Seriously impressive

I think people that consciously write logic so that websites redirect to the main page after changing language on one of website pages should burn in hell

That is a great advice > Managing Git state became much easier for me when I realized that the staging area and the stash are just bad features, and life is easier if I avoid them. Instead, I just commit whatever and deal with it later. matklad.github.io/2024/07/25/g...

It's official: I'm going to be working on the async book (and other docs) for the next six months, supported by a Rust Foundation fellowship foundation.rust-lang.org/news/announc... It's just a portion of my time, but I'm optimistic I can make an improvement to the async #rustlang experience 😀

Woah @bitwarden.bsky.social recently migrated their iOS app UI to native Swift. It is now so snappy and fast, so satisfying compared to that laggy mess that was before. Very cool, love it! Hope something like this is coming to desktop & plugins

I like watching movies in French, German and other languages I still don't quite understand in speech. The most annoying thing when you get so used to subtitles that you don't notice them: you go make some tea and realize that you can't understand a thing from sound, run back to pause the movie :D
