Shopping for glasses and realizing I have something I'm now calling "German face" where picking the wrong glasses makes you look like the hat Nazi from 'Raiders of the Lost Ark.'

As a journalist and as someone who was raised by/grew up around people like Powell, this is shameful. NYT should be ashamed of trying to garner sympathy for a violent, traitorous, dangerous criminal. Sickening. www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/n...

You've probably driven past the impressive teal-and-red sign for Terrace Hall Hotel on Centre Ave dozens of times. Did you know it is Pittsburgh's last-standing Green Book nightclub? My story delves into a little of its history www.axios.com/local/pittsb...

Me on Hinge: No one under 30, must be within 10 miles of Pittsburgh. Hinge: How about this 18-year-old in west Ohio?

Theater heads, this is running through Sun., Feb. 23. See it while you still can.

NEW ISSUE!! 📌 Featuring the future of Station Square, a look back at the history of Leechburg, another example of environmental racism in #Pittsburgh, this week’s top events, and more!

Between 1952 and 1955, homeowners in Sugar Top were among a small number of 20th-century Black #Pittsburgh residents resisting what they perceived to be environmental injustices:

Can Station Square make a comeback?

When you're a film scholar at the gym.

Quantum Theatre tackles an infinitely fascinting, but mostly forgotten figure in Benjamin Lay. See this one-man show through Feb. 23. www.pghcitypaper.com/arts-enterta...

🤗

Even in the relatively small Pittsburgh literary community, writers have shown that romance has grown to represent a broader, more inclusive array of identities and desires, meaning that readers can find the offbeat, wholesome, or erotic. www.pghcitypaper.com/arts-enterta...

Those sitting on an unused coat, consider rotating it back into your wardrobe (or donating it, so that someone else can have an extra)… @awaltzcp.bsky.social

If the Kendrick halftime performance proves anything it's that the NFL is indeed a messy bitch who lives for the drama.

Started watching 'The Pitt' and I don't hate it so far.

Imagine getting mercilessly, viciously dissed by a CUTIE PIE in FLARES! In front of an entire country!

KENDRICK JUST NOW

In all the ruckus I forgot about Butker lolololol I hope he chokes on it

Kendrick out here singlehandedly bringing back men's flare-leg jeans, out here looking like me when I got my first pair of MUDD jeans from JCPenney in 1996.🙏

Me: Cars today are too damn big. Me watching Mildred Pierce: 😐

The Kindred (1987) Open Your Eyes (1997) Red Rooms (2023) Presence (2024)

Love annoying everyone watching The Royal Rumble at the bar by yelling, "ANOTHER WRESTLER?!" when someone new enters.

Please, Pittsburgh, why is fried fish so very big? Why does it not fit on the bun? I just want a little fried fish.

Musicians and patrons say farewell to the Station Square restaurant and music venue, which welcomed local musicians, touring acts, drag queens, tribute bands, and other performers to its stage:

"There's cake in the conference room!" Me: Meh. "It's Funfetti!" Me:

Me upstairs when my husband, who is downstairs, laughs at a Reel I sent him minutes ago.

These games set in #Pittsburgh or developed by Pittsburghers are one way to stay busy during our coldest winter in years:

✨ New Issue!! ✨ Featuring the life and death of basketball legend John Brisker, a look back at the legendary Shadow Lounge, a new interactive app to preserve Black History, the good works of Hosanna House, this week’s top events, and more… www.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/I...

Dang, I miss Shadow Lounge. So many nights of Classic Material then popping over for dancehall at AVA. www.pghcitypaper.com/news/remembe...

Just texted "No one is more embarrassing than a comedian with hubris." It's science fact.

See "When the Lights Come On: Queer Nightlife as Emergent Space" at Brew House Arts, on view through March 22.

Great review of a terrific & creative play! We saw it in previews and highly recommend it.

You know James Bond, but do you know Porfirio Rubirosa, the Dominican playboy who served as the inspiration for Britain's greatest super spy? A new show at City Theatre will delve more into this man/myth/legend.

Here are a few local #Pittsburgh hot spots that will warm your heart (and probably your toes). Winter? Never heard of her...

This weekend, local drag and burlesque performers celebrated @realdollyparton.bsky.social's 79th Birthday in style at the Glitterbox Theater in Homestead:

I hate 'Dexter' so much, look at what they named a piece of exercise equipment.

Gin Blossoms is catnip for white ppl, "Jealousy" just came on in the bar and it feels like a warm hug.
