As someone who has played a fair amount of Destiny 2 in my time, that original pitch was an absolute disaster for a studio like Obsidian (or anyone, really). Just let the single player RPG studio focus on what they're good at, good grief.

Regarding Avowed: based on what I've seen in reviews, general buzz and what little I've played, I kind of wish it had stuck to the CRPG format. It seems to be designed like a CRPG in terms of narrative style, NPCs, and it lacks the typical immersive elements of a FP ARPG, hence the mixed reception.

I want to praise Citizen Sleeper 2, releasing tomorrow. The sequel gets ambitious, using the 1st game’s dice mechanic to push gripping knife-edge systemic missions off-station across space. It’s not just more of the first game and I appreciate where it pushes its own mechanics forward. Pick it up!
