Show me what democracy looks like? This is what democracy looks like #notmypresidentday

I'm attending an @indivisible.org meeting on zoom, and I had a really great idea: Creators Indivisible group. Artists creating and sharing content with a weekly prompt, focusing on different topics every week and flooding social media with the topic and sharing each other's posts. Who want in?

External studies have shown: -NIH funding directly or indirectly supported the development of ALL new treatments that were FDA approved between 2010-2020 -the return on NIH investment is estimated at 25-40% annually given the improvement in productivity from a healthier workforce Facts matter.

With all the crazy news stories, I'm not sure my American friends even heard about this, and I wanted to explain why this is important: 1) this did not happened in Gaza or the West Bank. This happened in East Jerusalem. Meaning those are Israeli citizens. 2) these books are sold elsewhere...

This might be the most nakedly corrupt document I’ve seen on DOJ letterhead — and I wrote a history of Watergate!

There have been some truly awful and egregious headlines on Gaza in the New York Times over the past 16 months but we may have a winner, folks. ‘Gaza Development Plan’

1/4 This is what war on Palestinian identity looks like. On Sunday, Israeli police raided the Educational Bookshop in East Jerusalem, an iconic bookstore and cultural hub that sells books on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the history of Jerusalem, run by Mahmoud and Ahmad Muna.

Frankly it’s embarrassing how much George Orwell’s “1984” gets wrong about 1984. The publisher should update it to be more accurate, e.g. “Winston heard ‘Eat It’ by Weird Al Yankovic playing on the radio. ‘I’d hate to be Michael Jackson right now!’ he said to Big Brother”

I know this thing about the price of eggs has everything to do with bird flu and nothing to do with who's the president, but I also sometime feels like being petty and unreasonable.

There are going to be a bunch of people going to @schumer.senate.gov NYC office tomorrow, demanding to block Russell Vought nomination to OMB director. If you are in NY metro area, please join us! www.mobilize.us/indivisible/...

Today, in relatable content...

Indivisible is urging people to visit their senators' local offices between now and Thursday to demand that they use every tool—including denying a quorum and blocking unanimous consent—to fight the confirmation of Project 2025 architect Russell Vought for head of OMB docs.google.com/document/d/1...

Trump is using Fentanyl as a reason for the increasing Tariffs on China and Mexico. But Fentanyl getting to the USA is already in decline since Biden cut a deal with President Xi and due to Kamala's work in S. America. In a couple of month, he'll claim it's the tariffs that did that.

I actually don't think this is what caused the collision, but I do think this, type of posts is effective.

If you’re a straight, cis person who has ever posted some version of a rainbow with “you’re safe with me” or similar, it’s time to back up the words with action— contact your reps and ask them what they’re going to do to protect trans people from this administration, particularly trans kids.

Interesting conversation with @nedr.bsky.social reminded me of something I did years back to avoid mindless scrolling and the numbing effect of Social Media. Spend as much time as I want on SM, BUT comment a full sentence on every single post. It cut my usage and made it more meaningful.

I'll take "what's the least surprising thing about Republicans immigration intent" for 200$ please.

So you know that horrible feeling in your stomach of total helplessness and like there's nothing you can do about all the bad stuff that's going on right now? Here's something you can do right now. Write a letter or a postcard to this amazing person and tell her you edmire her courage.

Also, this is my inauguration stitching project. It's called #hanginthere by @stitchmandarcy

We were listening to @maddow.msnbc.com show after not listening to any news for a while. Ned was spiraling down the autocracy scenarios, and felt very helpless, so we talked about it. I think it's really important to learn to differentiate between what's just talk and is scary and what is action 1/?
