Destroyer of Worlds: A(A.5?)
So we have a mix of…viking, thrash and heavy. This is an album I like that I can’t quite explain fully like I can the older ones, but I just kinda do. Maybe it’s because it’s kinda all over? The production is a little weird but I’d say give it a listen and see.

character and delving into Norse mythology. It’s a worthy listen I think to judge for yourself. As someone who usually isn’t too into concept albums(I like a few), I do enjoy this. It would actually make a pretty awesome movie/animated movie with a very metal looking cast.

I will say the invention of 'the milestone leveling system' in more modern times is nice, though, since it actually DOES let you play a game with very sporadic encounters so long as you're uncovering things and doing Stuff

If I want to play more 'videogamey' tactical stuff I have a lot of modern systems, if I want a more laid back game where we might not even fight for 4 sessions and my figure just sits there looking cool while we meander around, I have it

At the same time, all the other D&D editions have things I like and dislike-3e lets you play *literally any idea* with its eleventy billion books but sometimes it gets to be too much.
2e is nicely freeform, but in some ways its very open, and in other ways its a bit restrictive without houserules

I just mean big long tactical setpieces. There might be some houserules to make some of the combats just more 2e AD&D style where they're more freeform/'natural' encounters(again, minis are fine), I just mean I am not always in the mood to play real tactical with the 'videogamey' abilities.

This might be Bathory’s lowest point. Granted, Quorthon STILL managed, IMO, to release a slightly above average thrash album, only with strange production and a weird sound. Try if you’re a type that needs to hear it all, but you could live your life without this one just as easily.

yeah, like lots of rolls, lots of categories, craploads of charts for everything-like charts upon charts
it makes *sense*, like it works and the game itself once you sorta get into the swing of it, but boy is it...weighty to put it lightly lol

like imagine creating a FATAL character that actually makes sense and minus the stuff like rolling for your name and race and the anal/fist circumference rolls and you have at least an idea of how long it takes to create a Rolemaster character
