Hey folks I know it's hard but please mention the NG allegations on social media as often as you feel = to doing (appropriately tagged, of course). We need to keep talking about it because his PR team is going to keep working to suppress it. (Cw Neil Gaiman) #NeilGaiman #FuckNeilGaiman #GoodOmens

People SERIOUSLY need to stop using neurodivergence as an excuse for being a cunt. It's grotesque.

I knew this piece about Neil Gaiman was in the works, and still, I felt sick reading it. TW: rape, abuse, coercion, and child sex abuse.

Kitty Kendall, survivor of @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com , posts a statement and asks people to support OurVOICE with their donations. They’re the charity @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com promised to “make a hefty donation” to but he never did. www.reddit.com/r/neilgaiman...

people, he hired personal publicists and spent thousands and thousands of dollars

“Separate the artist from the art” yeah folks I can do that for Dickens or Hemingway or other assholes who are PROFOUNDLY DEAD but I prefer not to line the pockets of living assholes. Saying any version of that is saying “I don’t want to complicate my fun.” It’s moral mediocrity.

Oh, he’s offered to step back? So everyone can have the thing they want? That was decent of him, wasn’t it? Maybe he’s a nice guy really. By the way, if you’re hungry, I heard there’s a gingerbread cottage in the woods. Why not go and take a little nibble. Bones? What bones?

Some are saying, rightfully, "Good, fuck Gaiman but sucks for everyone else involved with his stuff that is getting cancelled" which is true but also what toxic shit does; it's wrecks EVERYTHING it comes into contact with. Which is why it cannot be tolerate, not a drop of it.

This is the thing - anyone loosely connected to publishing had heard murmurs of Gaiman's behaviour. So how on earth can these companies claim not to have known?

I’ve been vibrating with rage over Bard’s consistent betrayals and dehumanizations of rape survivors on campus since 1995. Truth. Will. Fucking. OUT.

Wikipedia's section on the Neil Gaiman sexual assault allegations has recently been expanded. Previously, only Julia Hobsbawm's account was described in any detail.

A lot of people don’t know. It’s a result of Neil and his PR firm (Edendale Strategies) burying the story and trying to wait it out.

Holy shit newbies are randomly reskeeting Neil Gaiman posts, they have no idea

Surreal, isn’t it? Neil’s PR bots & mindless “but muh fandom!” apologists are *still* just about drowning out his survivors’ pleas for accountability on less equitable sites. (In case you missed the memo, NG has been credibly accused of multiple instances of bullying, coercion, assault, and rape.)

I know you love his books, but the man's a creep. he also isn't posting here since this came to light. don't share, don't follow, block!

LRP: Reminder that Neil Gaiman is The Worst, and you should block him posthaste.

Just a reminder to go unfollow this sad man.

Contrary to popular belief and framing, the MeToo movement did not fundamentally shift the status quo of institutional empowerment and protection of predators. The widespread idea that it did has put victims at a further disadvantage when they come forward about institutional betrayal

It is so wild to me how women can be very public, vocal survivors of sexual violence, and yet when a male friend is accused of the same, rush to defend him and discredit his accusers.

A reminder that Gaiman is absolutely one who deserves to be added alongside JKR on your list of “never give money”.

More people should listen to this. It’s heartbreaking, because we all love the books and the creative ethos Neil Gaiman presented, but the allegations are many, are credible, and are *horrible*, and the PR effort to obscure them is, as far as I can tell, working.

The culture of silence around the Neil Gaiman allegations is unlikely anything I’ve seen. People have been pilloried for less. Ask Kevin Spacey. Yet it’s like pulling teeth to find ANY mainstream news outlet reporting on this at all. He must have terrifying lawyers.

Just 3 PR things I noticed before Xmas but over fall into winter 1. Neil Gaiman blitz of shorts on YT. Clips of multiple properties but focusing heavily on Sandman and secondarily on Good Omens. the volume was shocking but went extinct in Dec. Was weird. 2. Blake Lively sliming was super obvious

It’s been over half a year since a handful of Neil Gaiman’s targets finally started going public with their individual allegations of coercion, rape, battery, humiliation, bullying, slander, etc. Taken in aggregate, their stories reveal a decades-long, escalating pattern of violent abuse by Neil.

Imagine the bravery of standing up to tell the truth of having been abused by one of the world's most beloved authors only to be greeted with crushing silence like the bottom of the Challenger Deep

We’re headed into very dark times. For myself, the silence in the genre community, first on USrael and then on Neil Gaiman, has been horrifying to witness.

Bless you, kind souls who left these helpful comments on a recent capitalist puff piece from Popverse about Neil Gaiman:

It’s more-or-less pay day for me, and possibly for others. Folks who want to do something about Gaiman apart from a book bonfire are donating to OurVOICE in the name of Calliope: www.kkendallcounselor.com/news/tothefr...

Hey all. If you google “Neil Gaiman Uncovered,” apparently you’ll get puff pieces written by his PR firm, Edendale strategies. If you want the subReddit called “neilgaimanuncovered” where folks are posting updates on the allegations and their consequences, that’s here. www.reddit.com/r/neilgaiman...

Scarlett, the survivor of a sexual assault perpetrated by Neil Gaiman, has officially filed a civil case both against Neil Gaiman and also Amanda Palmer. This is hard to read, but the book world NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS.

I've been thinking about how Gaiman surrounded himself with talented women -- how he ultimately was a man who made his career on women's names, on women's art, on women's faces, on women's fandom, and how he turned around, out of that debt and dependency, and hurt women to prove that he was boss.

This, by Matthew Boroson, is pretty convincing. I knew exactly none of it before reading the original post on Facebook.

For some reason this week I keep thinking about how many authors -- how many women -- will have Gaiman blurbs stuck on their work for the foreseeable future, and will always have his name on the earliest versions. Violations on violations.

Interesting Tumblr post on Gaiman and consequences: the claim is that by spreading the truth online, we make more work for the expensive pr firm he's hired - thus hitting NG financially more effectively than boycotts would. 🤔 www.tumblr.com/dirtandspace...

One of Neil Gaiman's victims (Kitty Kendall, or "Claire") posted this statement about charity donations to OurVOICE. Please share widely. She's a wonderful person and we'd all like to see some good come out of this.

You know what would be really fuckin great? If the GO fandom could accept that the S2 kiss was a s*xual as*ault and tag it appropriately. I'm so fucking sick of being triggered every time it comes across my dash. #GoodOmens #CwSexualAssault
