The libertarian movement, long consolidated around two splinters of fusionism (the beltway types who liked Reagan and the paleo types who liked Buchanan), is just fundamentally unequipped for this moment, bereft of either the understanding or the willingness to oppose fascism.

I understand why paleos support this stuff. Rothbard thought Leninist demagoguery was the only way and paleos are gambling they'll have the ear of the new emperor (they're wrong). But beltway types don't even seem to have the analytic tools to understand what's really going on.
