‘Who is going to face Mr Trump’: Canada leaders’ debate dominated by US crisis

This is how you do it. The "Mutual Academic Defense Compact". The moral imperative may be to fight... but the strategic imperative is to not fight alone: www.gazettenet.com/UMass-Amhers...

"His office leadership instructed appointees to act as servers for a multicourse meal. They dispatched a US Park Police helicopter for his personal transportation. On at least one occasion, a staffer was told to remake the cookies because the batch was subpar..." www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Here’s the real reason why DOGE is gutting the IRS. (Hint: it has nothing to do with “efficiency.”)

The Revolution will not be televised.

Mark Carney? I ask what experience can he offer Canadians? Sure he's been successful for decades in the private sector. But how does that help him find the Parliament Hill cafeteria? Pierre can do that. And how many bills has Mr Carney passed in the last 20 years? None. That's ONE less than Pierre.

#ICYMI: Speaker Mike Johnson lives in a $3.7 million D.C. townhouse with evangelical pastor Steve Berger, who has attacked the separation of church and state as “a delusional lie." Berger's project: ministering to members of Congress so that what “they learn is then translated into policy.”

"falling out of bed" "Weinberg, chief US economist at High Frequency Economics, sees the economy falling out of bed in the second quarter, which has just started, and now predicts the economy will contract at a negative 4.5% rate in the second quarter." www.marketwatch.com/story/econom...

he did this just *after* going to the funeral of an 8 year old girl. he walks away from where the hearse is idling and immediately starts hyping this stuff again. www.washingtonpost.com/health/2025/...

It's not a bad idea to go to the local Walmart or big box retailer and buy lots of consumables now. From toothpaste to soap, anything you can find storage space for, buy before they have to replenish inventory. Even if it's made in the USA , they will jack up the price and blame it on tariffs.

It's all about power and propaganda. The Trump White House wants to assert power over the press corps; push the White House Correspondents' Association out of the picture; and promote media outlets that provide sycophancy, not scrutiny.

States control presidential elections. Blue states should make clear now that Trump will not be allowed on the ballot.

Pay attention to who he is hurting most with these cuts.

Elon Musk called Social Security a "Ponzi scheme." Another billionaire in the cabinet said only "fraudsters" would complain about missing Social Security checks. Tell that to the 73 million Americans who rely on the Social Security they earned from a lifetime of hard work.

From retired General Mark Hertling: The Trump Administration’s Use of Signal Puts Service Members at Risk ’Operational security’ is about reducing the danger for those in uniform. @markhertling.bsky.social www.thebulwark.com/p/trump-admi...

Today, on Transgender Day of Visibility, we want to double down on our commitment to supporting the Trans community in New Mexico and across the country. You are seen, you are heard, you are valued, you are loved, but most importantly, you belong. 🏳️‍⚧️❤️

Just emerged from my 1-L CONLAW course where we discussed whether a President can serve a third term and, if not, how that prohibition might possibly be enforced. You know, the ordinary grist for the CONLAW mill. Ho hum.

Not a one-off. They don't care as long as they were not affected or family in danger.

The $ spent on US elections is wack. Appx 5.5 Billion (billion!!!) in 2024 races. For comparison in Canada, last elxn each party had a $30mil limit. Only 4 reached around that. Total overall was circa 172 Million (22 parties ran campaigns).

Does anyone else find it odd that the felon won all 7 battleground states? That the Dems didn’t even give a semblance of questioning the outcome? Voter suppression, gerrymandering, rejected ballots etc etc Or is it just me…

‘We weren’t stuck’: Nasa astronauts tell of space odyssey and reject claims of neglect

They can't spell "April"? "The termination emails were riddled with mistakes — with employees’ names, the month of April and even the institute’s title misspelled in places — a telling sign of the rushed and haphazard nature of the operation..." www.washingtonpost.com/national-sec...

We need everyone. Everywhere. All at once (depending on your time zone).

This is what happens when you don't properly socialize your politician in their formative years.

Honestly, I’d be hard-pressed to get upset about deporting actual gang members to a distant prison. I have friends who’ve lived in areas where gangs are present. It’s terrifying. I wouldn’t lose sleep over violent people being removed from a community. But that’s not what’s happening.

Who is leading in Battleground Ontario? Here are the latest federal polls in the province. Details → 338canada.com/ontario.htm

I can’t believe this is real! It’s like the worst caricature of how the right says Soros does politics.

remember what i said about RFK Jr. being a eugenicist first and foremost? www.marketwatch.com/story/agency...

Pushback works, part gazillion: "Here are the facts: DOGE moved forward with plans to close multiple field offices. Then, without public notice or explanation, they reversed their plans. Now they are trying to pretend like they were never planning to close the offices." popular.info/p/how-the-so...

Every time I see a cybertruck in the wild it's like sorry I don't believe a real person bought one of these with their own money. These are paid actors

*gazes wistfully out a window*

This is one fugly white boy!!!

Tomorrow, April 1, is Election Day in Wisconsin and Florida, and don’t be fooled: the stakes could not be higher. Luckily, Team Big Picture is here with all you need to stay informed.
