I was born into a diplomat's household, and grew up a westerner hopping around southeast asia. It was fun.

A froggy evening 🐸 photos.app.goo.gl/b76q3Hz7gV2X...

Ready for the ornithological event.

Ok. This is it. This is the internet content that did it. *Now* I feel old. www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/c...

Bonus sparkly video of the face-down side of the Catbus, printed on an iridescent plate I found on AliExpress. I quite like the effect for stuff like this. :)

Today's Studio Ghibli Christmas ornament is the Catbus! Bambu Lab X1C, 2 AMS units, .2mm nozzle, ~16h for the full plate.

Made some Totoro Christmas tree decorations. .2mm nozzle, 8 color, Bambu Lab X1C. ~15h, 100g plastic, 153 filament changes. Worth it!

Regardless of where you stand on AI art, can we please all agree that this is funny petapixel.com/2024/06/12/p...

Glow in the dark Petunias, called Firefly, from light.bio. I believe they are using genes from a fungus? They are delightful (pun intended), and genuinely bright in the new growth. I wish my Mom was still around to see these. She would have been so happy to have something so fun to grow.

Every now and then I wonder why Kings of Power 4 Billion % doesn't have millions of views. I know pixel art/videogame aesthetics are niche, but not *that* niche. It's an amazing fever dream amalgam of what it feels like to play. Seriously, go watch it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNMJ...

It's not everyday that I can say that I literally debugged a system! This crane fly was stuck in the chipset fan, causing thermal errors and random rebooting.

If you've ever wondered what a seedling Venus Flytrap looks like, well, now you know! #Gardening #CarniverousPlants

A relict population of Silphium may have been re-discovered, and I'd say this time it looks like it truly may be it. Exciting! www.nationalgeographic.com/history/arti...

this is probably my favorite cross section. it is a high-speed USB cable (10Gbps) containing 8 micro coaxial cables, each only 1mm across!

Woke up today to someone coming across a reddit post I made 13 years ago talking about turning 37. They had done the math and wished me a happy 50th. That's the kind of random fun interaction I like about the internet. Brought a smile to my face. :)

Happy lil' pumpkin. Original, and printed in HueForge.

I now want to attend a Soul Metal concert. www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2hC... Lots of folks make mashups, but man, Bill McClintock's work is on another level. His whole channel is incredible.

(it all worked out in the end)

Pros of having a dual laser setup for engraving: lots of materials can be used! Cons of having a dual laser setup: accidentally selecting the wrong frequency before burning

Got my laser up n' running. Time to engrave All The Things. :D youtube.com/shorts/yo7KK...
