If Danielle Smith did nothing wrong, she should call the inquiry. But she won't. She doesn't want Albertans to know the truth. What we have here is an incompetent government trying to protect itself and trying to run away from its own record. We need a public inquiry. Now.

Welcome aboard. I long of the time we could be mostly unpolitical. Unfortunately, we are entering a world spanning war for progressive democracy and the is no room for bystanders. People are either warrior/resisters or collaborators. I am glad you are with us in the light. We’ve got this.

The public should understand that we're in what I call the Age of Missing Accountability. Politicians at all levels, oversight boards, professional regulators like the Law Society of Alberta, corporations etc. simply refuse to answer questions from the media.

This is astounding. It shows Albertans paid double - sometimes triple! - for surgeries at private surgical facilities connected to friends of the UCP than through AHS. And the Premier’s staff & Health Minister allegedly pressured & then fired the CEO of AHS when she asked questions about them.

So the guy the UCP govt tried to get fired from his govt job because of his podcast criticizing the Premier had his podcast shut down by the guy who gave the Premier's staff sky box tickets to a Stanley Cup game last year? Nothing incredibly fishy illegal about that, I'm sure, right?

NEW: A couple days ago, Breakdown host Nate Pike announced that he was being court ordered to wipe the Alberta politics show from the web as part of a libel lawsuit from a well-connected Alberta businessman. This development should concern all journalists. open.substack.com/pub/theorcha...

It is Black History Month and each day this month I am sharing stories from Canada's Black history. Today it is the story of the Colored Hockey League of the Maritimes, which existed for decades and helped innovate several things found in hockey today. 🧵1/10

This passage in Mentzelopoulos statement of claim is now quite relevant. Note that the video that Nate showed on the @TheBreakdownAB was in late Fall 2024 about MHCare and Sam Mraiche (that he is also being sued for).

Happy Flag Day! It was 60 years ago today that the Maple Leaf Flag flown for the first time at Parliament Hill. I may be a bit biased, but I think it is the most beautiful flag in the world. Let's show our pride in our nation now more than ever. Let the flags fly today! #FlagDay

Happy 60th birthday, flag of Canada, recognized around the world as a symbol of peace, freedom and friendship. One of my prize possessions is a flag that Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau gave my father in 1984. It had flown over the Parliament Buildings and now flies at my cottage every Canada Day.

One question, one follow-up was a COVID invention. We couldn't scrum properly, so that's how govt ran phone press conferences. Now govt uses it to limit reporters' ability to press officials. It is govt control over media. That's why I don't like the mic system. Bring back proper scrums.
