is this a good time or a bad time for my washing machine to go kaput

Lots of people dunking on the parents quoted here, but it takes courage to say out loud, to an international audience, “I made a mistake.” It is worth understanding how entrenched beliefs can change.

need a word for the specific kind of anticipation you feel when you see something you REALLY want on fb marketplace but the seller has not responded to your message

Never even occurred to me before now that Canada’s 5 living former prime ministers would do anything together, now I’m imagining they hang out all the time. Playing Mario Kart, shooting hoops, regular stuff.

What is the purpose of storing 30-year-old data on PowerSchool? Am I missing something? Wouldn’t it make sense to offload MCP numbers and the like every so often?

Occurred to me today I should probably renew my passport. I know it’s easier to renew before the existing document expires. I wonder when it expires??? Oh

5 years ago? Surely this is an accounting error. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...

Can’t remember the last time I read a story about local news growing instead of shrinking! 🇨🇦❤️ www.cbc.ca/news/editors...

A CBC producer took the time to send me a copy of the clip of an interview I did for them this morning (re: my latest Substack post) - this sort of nice follow-up is quite rare and greatly appreciated!

John Vaillant’s Fire Weather helped me understand that it’s not just that there are more fires now than in decades past, it’s that they are fundamentally different and often impossible to fight. Every page has another jaw-dropping detail. Can’t recommend it enough.

Regrets? Sure I have regrets. My parents brought me back a Neil Diamond concert tee in 2005 and somewhere along the way I lost it. Most of my regrets involve t-shirts.

not Gilbert Gottfried as a police guy on this SVU rerun?? Merry Christmas one and all

it’s funny to think about how Canada got rid of pennies. like we as a country just collectively said …..who cares

Sometimes when I drive past Soldiers Pond I can’t help but be struck by the scale of it all. “This changes everything,” seems true to me. But I think the changes, for better or worse, are beyond our comprehension. The deal is huge but tentative. The next 5 decades will be a series of sliding doors.

why would you ever order fries instead of taters???

One thing you notice when you really pay attention to crime: what precipitates an offence isn’t usually something impressive and fantastical, it’s ordinary and devastating.

On the one hand, I’m trying to own fewer things and minimize clutter. But in the other hand, I have two vintage Ninja Turtle stockings and I now I need the other two.

Been gutting the basement for the past few months. If anyone needs 14 extension cords hit me up

The Village is absolutely packed today, as it always is when it hosts vendor markets. Plenty of baked goods, handicrafts, and bouncy castles for the kids. Lots of independent small businesses in permanent locations, too. Folks think of the Village as a dead mall but there’s more to the story.

wait are posts called SKEETS????
