I am honored every time my wet plate work can be used to support my friends.

“Bonnie” captured once again in wet plate collodion for our ongoing series “The Devotion Sessions”. Carl Zeiss Tessar 250mm lens, f4.5, 9 seconds of exposure, 8x10 black glass ambrotype, natural light through Northern facing windows and skylights at Nostalgic Glass Wet Plate Studio, Bismarck, ND

Nostalgic Glass Wet Plate Studio on a gloomy day by Victoria Lyubchenko.

"To Hold" with my dear friend and muse Caylin Cathey and her fiancé Justin McCloud. Caylin first walked into my studio as a student back in 2017. She recently got engaged and it only seemed poignant to celebrate with a portrait of them together.

"Cora" captured in the historic wet plate collodion process of silver on glass. Her videography class from Grand Forks Central High School spent a couple hours in the studio on Monday. I want to thank Trevor Lennon for giving his class an opportunity to see the historic process I hold so dear.

Portraits of Shane Balkowitsch by Victoria Lyubchenko of Studio V. These are some of her "B" portraits that I thought should see the light of day. I am rarely on the other side of the camera but it felt good. I am so blessed to be able to collaborate with other creatives in my community.

Shane Balkowitsch by Victoria Lyubchenko from Studio V. “Life is too short for boring portraiture”.

“A Photographer and his Tool Have Become One” by Victoria Lyubchenko from Studio V.

My new studio logo by the talented Charlese Bell, a student from Minot State. We incorporated my wet plates “La Sol” with Dana Sullivan and “Winged Victory of Samothrace” with my wife Bonnie into the piece. It makes me happy to incorporate my propmaster Laine Pope’s work as well.
