We had to say goodbye to our staff member Jacob (on drums here) recently,😔. We're sad to see him go, but we're super happy that things are going so well! Thanks for everything Jacob, 464 shifts in 4 years, 3rd out of the 19 staff members that we've had in 20 years! 😀 www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gA0...

Meet our new(ish) member of staff, Ale!! (Alessandro!) 👋😃 He joined the Bally team in Jan 2025, and as you can see, he's a bassist, as well as a solo artist, so just like all of the other members of staff at Bally, he's a working musician!! Welcome to the team, Ale! 🙂❤️

All 5 members of Mirrored Daughters (two Leaf Librarians, a @firestations.bsky.social, a Marlody and a Hannah cellist) made it into @ballystudios.bsky.social today, just in time for a gig on 26/02. Album out via @fikarecordings.com on 21/02

What a Queen!!! 👑

We've written a two-part blog post about rehearsal studios that don't have staff members on site, and why we think that they're really bad for both bands, and the grassroots music scene in general. It's what we chat to the bands that use us about most. 🙂👍 www.ballystudios.co.uk/single-post/...

There's only about 10 days of the year when the studios is closed, so when that happens it's time to travel! 🚄 Vienna. 🇦🇹

Listening to Wilco's live album, "Kicking Television - Live In Chicago." It still amazes me how an album recorded in imperfect conditions, over less than 8 hours (multiple concerts) with a couple of hours of soundcheck in total, can sound better than an album recorded over months. And it does!

Merry Christmas everyone!! 🎄🎁 3 years ago I received a pair of Red Wing Boots for Christmas. About 12 million steps later, (6 million per boot) they're due a polish and wax, but still going strong. Hope that everyone else has received a present just as good. ❤️

We're focusing more on newsletters in 2025 rather than social media, so here's a link to our new December 2024 newsletter, with LOTS of new info in it about the studios, including: - New equipment. - New staff members. - New booking system. - New promo video. + more 😀👍 shorturl.at/fkilT

I'm in awe of the nerves of steel of rehearsal studios who post on social media, "we have (really popular band) in the studios today!" Are they not terrified of fans of the band coming down to the studios to meet them?! I once heard Graham Coxon was in a pub in Camden. I was there in 15 mins! 😄

We've just added some brand new cymbals to the studios, B20 Bronze ones, with x2 extra 16" and 18" crashes, to go along with the 14" crashes that we already have, and 13" hi-hats. ALSO, we added a super cute 12" crash, and new cables. Cost of hiring the cymbals? Free, of course! 😎👍

Here's our 10 favourite albums of the year. (1/2) 1) Bill Ryder Jones - Iechyd Da. 2) Fontaines DC - Romance. 3) Vampire Weekend - Only God Was Above Us. 4) Hurray For The Riff Raff - The Past Is Still Alive. 5) English Teacher - This Could Be Texas. open.spotify.com/playlist/58n...

It shows how strong the band's catalog is that my 3 favourite songs of theirs aren't in the top 20, but I still agree with the list. 👍 (I'd have gone with: Death Letter. You're Pretty Good Looking, For A Girl. Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine) www.theguardian.com/culture/2024...

Rubber Soul, Hunky Dory, London Calling and Let It Bleed would have all been released too late in the year to make the Sp*tify wrapped end of the year review.
