Good article on history in National Geographic this month. This is why history is important to learn so you “don’t repeat mistakes that are deadly or self-destructive.” Today is a prime example of that syllogism. Doing things significant despite knowing it will hurt you.

Up late with Mom and her ancillary problems from Alzheimer’s & Dementia. Progressed dysphagia now-my thumbs are raw in spots from twisting a pill crusher, so bought an electric crusher—who knew they existed? She was breathing loudly at 45 breaths a minute tonight at 11 pm w/Oxy saturation ..1)

Spent all day with my Mom for my birthday. Son sent stunning flowers—hubby perfume. She didn’t remember it was my birthday-it’s okay. Made a chocolate/brownie cake for the occasion and still haven’t eaten it—too tired taking care of Mom who has aspirated fluid in her lungs. She’s my best gift.
