In this current harsh world, let's warm a few hearts remembering the events of 7-8 March 1991, when the 90,000 people of Brindisi woke up to find 25,000 Albanians roaming the streets of their town. For perspective, that's roughly equivalent to 25k people suddenly landing in Hastings [Thread] >> 1

This isn't Gaza. This is the West Bank which is run by the PA not Hamas. It is being decimated, homes destroyed, over 40,000 Palestinians displaced so far with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Western MSM silence is deafening. Now imagine if this was inside Ukraine.

Advice wanted I’m planned to go to a residential work meeting this week. The venue have sent me a disclaimer to sign regarding my food allergies. They will not be responsible for poisoning me. I feel uncomfortable with this. I have never signed one, nor happy to. But it is a work event… 1/2

While understandably, eyes have turned to Ukraine and the threats of Trump’s chaos machine, Israel is taking full advantage. Gaza is under notice of siege and bombardment and the Knesset advances plans to annex large swathes of the West Bank. The danger is extreme.

40 000 Palestinians in Jenin in the Occupied West Bank have been made homeless by Israel’s forced evacuation policy. We are enduring sub zero temperatures here, so how are these people supposed to find shelter and warmth? Have I missed the world’s condemnation and action on this?

It’s been 15 weeks since #grief It has got a little easier, but gosh grief is hard. My insomnia seems to be pretty permanent now. And I appreciate just how fragile but important our relationships with folk are. Missing this particular one but even more grateful for my OH who has been a rock.

I’m an absolutist on assisted suicide (fundamentally changed our relationship to medicine, human rights etc., but @doctoroxford.bsky.social isn’t and this is well worth reading as a summary of many of the issues that have plagued the committee stage of the bill.
