You know this is 100% going to happen…

The airlines hoping to cash in on this administration's opposition to Inclusion. Inclusion means including people with disabilities in normal activities, such as flying in airplanes. The airlines would love to leave those using wheelchairs on the ground.

What comes after they accomplish their dreams?

If humans are endowed "with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness," consider that we evolved to gossip, to play, to make things, and to make love. You can try to change what the words mean, but you can't change our evolved needs for freedom.

The ones who are tearing things down are truly not like us. They don't understand art, or science, or complex ideas. After the slap dash way they "uncovered" fraud because COBOL, I'm not even sure they understand coding.🧪🖋️🖼️💻

Real freedom is psychological freedom, when one feels free to be oneself within a caring community. Let's take back that word from free market fanatics, who equate freedom with the unregulated opportunity to dominate, to aggress, to take resources, to despoil nature, and to enslave others.

First, we have to take back our words. They say "freedom" is free markets, no minimum wage, no regulations, and all human services privatized. We KNOW that freedom means having the hours and energy to be human beings, NOT being worked to exhaustion to be able to eat, as slaves do.

A rare and important contribution that balances the benefits of genomics and education studies with the dangers.

What if creating a discipline named Cognitive Science was an opportunity for male flight from the increasing numbers of women in Psychology? Check authors, citations…

Somebody needs to channel Audre Lorde and explain to the institutional leaders of higher education that their silence will not protect us. We need to be 10 toes down and LOUD about celebrating and explaining the value of education, the importance of free inquiry, the life saving impact of research..

🧪 I realized today that if you cut DEI from psychological science -- that is, the stories of those who countered scientific racism, sexism, and ableism-- all you have left is a 150 year long eugenics project.

Time for a shadow cabinet, a loyal opposition, to prevent or counter every stupid move made by the Administration. See Hubbell's list for the shadow cabinet. What is yours?

We’re officially in full airport mode all the time now: everything is crazy expensive, sweatpants are acceptable at all times, nobody’s judging anyone for drinking more than they usually do, and we’re all just out here buying books and coffee to deal with the stress

Remember that part of the Handmaid's Tale where they confiscate all the women's bank accounts? I remember thinking, that would be impossible. Now Elon Musk has every woman's bank account number she used to receive her tax refund or to have her social security check deposited.

I suppose our grant proposal to provide teachers ways of encouraging creativity in STEM is toast, because we targeted "under-resourced" schools, a forbidden phrase. Ironic because many of those schools in Kansas are in rural, poor, majority-white communities.

You think I would revise my manuscripts to suit your bigoted misogyny? Nope. Not happening.

I would like to hear from academics whose institutions are caving to demands to change curricula to omit mentions of race, equity, diversity. And from those from universities standing strong. #AAUP needs our support.

I can't think of any other way to say it.

This is how you do it. Neighbors protecting neighbors.

Look at the pleasure he feels while talking about whipping kids. Everyday sadism powers these guys. Just imagining that beating makes him feel gooooood.

Talking about the “working class” doesn’t make sense to Americans who think they are “middle class.” If you receive a paycheck, even a big one, you are a worker and you are working class. Government workers, academics, and salaried business people need to wake up to this fact.

Two Shrinks on the Farm this week talk about the psychology of liberty, freedom, authoritarianism, and resistance. #liberationpsychology #personalitypsych #therapysky

I never dreamed I would find so many liberation psychologists here on Blue Sky. I've often felt alone writing about the psychology of liberty, and now I know there are colleagues all over the world helping people toward freedom. #LiberationPsychology

Sure would be a shame if a bunch of PhDs who suddenly have a lot of time on their hands due to no grant writing or reviewing spent all that energy calling and writing their elected officials every single fucking day

Can a headline alone be eligible for a Pulitzer?

Our first Zoom topic at Freedom Work will be Liberty Begins at Home. Join us to reclaim the freedom to be human that is threatened. During the Inauguration, at 11 am CST.

Concerning. Has Elon found the lesbian responsible for this yet?

I’m traveling into the past on my way to St. Louis, my hometown.

Please please please watch this. Please.

While it may be disappointing to clinicians to learn that knowledge and beliefs have negligible impact on target behaviors, the clear evidence for social support and access tells us that individual therapy is not enough.

Just got the draft of the book cover for Psychology of Liberty: Reclaiming Everyday Freedom.
