Age yourself with a movie you saw in theaters.

Does anyone know the name of that industrial nu metal song that plays when Ginger arrives at the greenhouse party? It very much captures the era.

The Syria thing is still crazy to me. I honestly thought Assad was gonna win and stay in power. But instead it all just fell apart

Trying to pick up the guitar again and the bassist in me very much prefers playing notes over chords. This song is a gift. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/the-sist...

Gonna watch Ginger Snaps tonight

I wrote this long-read confronting the claim that anti-Zionism is antisemitic. Contrary to what some voices say, there has been a thread of antisemitism that has traced through the entire history of Zionism itself. spectrejournal.com/the-antisemi...

The book makes Wayne Hussey sound like Mr. Frog

Finished Waiting For Another War! It's written from a fan's perspective and you can tell by the tone of the writing. It covers everything up until the First and Last and Always and the band's first split.

The book talks about how the Sisters would behave while on tour. Andrew Eldritch would stay in his hotel room and play Scrabble. Wayne Hussey would do insane shit.

Someone make a version of that "who must go meme" but with the LGBT community as Assad and Rush Limbaugh as the person on the left of the image

Some more fun Doktor Avalanche lore. When they upgraded him to an Oberheim DMX, a reviewer mistook him for a human.

An interesting observation about the Sisters of Mercy's aesthetic during the Wayne Hussey era. They looked like hippies.

they spend five billion dollars a year on this and it looks markedly worse than GTA V

Skipping around the book for Doktor Avalanche stuff and it seems quite a few folks were confused by him during live shows. There was no drummer with a massive kit during a Sisters concert. Also whose idea was it to have the Sisters support Black Flag? Hardcore fans hated goths back then.

Reading the first book now and the stuff about Doktor Avalanche really interests me. They had to put him on a cassette player for live shows early on. Really prior to the Sisters, drum machines were largely a synthpop and disco thing. A rock band using them wasn't very common.

Man everything seemed so hopeful at the end of 2020. There was a huge uprising during the summer and it looked like a bright future was on the horizon. How did we backslide to where we are now?

Alright found two different biographies on the Sisters of Mercy. Waiting For Another War and Paint My Name in Black and Gold. Gonna read both.

Valentine's comm I got done of my OCs Peter and Alice from dinych.

On a bit of a gothic metal binge. The genre has an interesting history. After reading around a bit, I've made a list of bands I personally feel are important to the gothic metal genre for what they brought to it. Will probably look into their discographies a bit. 🎧

The Company of Wolps

I just got on Paxil and it stopped my panic attacks. This is so disgusting.

GM

Fantastic movie. I honestly found it to be very cozy because of the dreamy visuals. Also there's a brutal transformation sequence goddamn.

It's #WerewolfWednesday and a full moon, gonna watch The Company of Wolves.

OK who is this Boof person I see people talking about?

Psychobilly, as a genre, is mentioned in here more often than I thought it would be. It seems in Russia, the audiences of psychobilly and EBM were usually the same people!

Found out that the first 20 or so books in this series are available as ebooks. Nice.
