And the UK leg of this tour is done. Mostly sell outs. People in the UK keep coming to see us play our very individual take on music and I keep doing it. Our support act for the tour, Kit Trigg, was excellent and these young firepissers are going to do great. Lovely fellows. It has been a privilege.

Last UK show of the spring tonight in Shoreham. Tonight's English sparkling wine is another one I've never had before, and it's amongst the better ones.

Jordan Peterson is another example of what I call a competency cosplayer. Informed people immediately identity him as an intellectual fraud, but uninformed people can fancy him an intellectual who flatters their unexamined prejudices.

Maybe. But it might also be the case that most Western kids 1) have never fought in a major war, 2) don't know anyone who has fought. Hence they are too far removed from war to realise the horror of it. I'm 55. My dad was in Vietnam, but he's dead. My kids personally know no war veterans.

Wir sind so eitel, dass uns sogar an der Meinung der Leute, an denen uns nichts liegt, etwas gelegen ist. Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach Österreichische Schriftstellerin 1830 - 1916

The calls for a common Eiropean Armed Forces, which can stand on its own and defend Europe with no US help, grow louder. And rightly so. This should have been done years ago.

"The White House is staking the U.S.’s global position — and thus its security and prosperity — on the bet that values, alliances, soft power and trustworthiness are unimportant." Piece by me in @themoscowtimes.com

Excellent piece by @ruthdeyermond.bsky.social . Trump's decision to switch his support from allies to adversary is very dangerous for Ukraine & Europe, but also for the US itself. If Trump thinks Putin will show gratitude, rather than exploiting weakness, he's in for a shock.

Years before Hitler invaded the USSR, Nazi agents planted fake disloyalty rumors about Stalin’s top generals on Vienna phone lines they knew Soviets had tapped. They convinced Stalin to purge & shoot his own best generals before the outbreak of war. Imagine Putin’s FSB planting gossip today…🤔

During WWII, four brothers from the same Jewish family signed up to fight against the Nazis. Only one of the four brothers survived. His grandson is the current President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky. Sláva Ukrayíni!

The Normalcy Bias is woven into our institutions – both formally and informally. We refuse to believe or minimalise threat warnings, assuming things will continue much as before, that it won't really be 'that' bad. This is a coping mechanism.

Which sounds better: 1) mint chocolate prawns (After Eight Shrimp) 2) ground beef apple pie (Shepherd's Apple Pie) 3) tuna fish ice cream (Yellowfin Gelato)

!

Remarkable statement from a German author: The enemies of Europe - from Trump to Putin - all want people to vote for the AfD? If you don't see the light now, then you're blind. To quote Christian Lüth, AfD's long-time press spokesman: "The worse things are for Germany, the better for the AfD."

Oh wow, Pistorius is really going for it ‘I had a speech prepared on the topic of the conference. But I have to react to the VP’s speech’.

Well this looks promising. We'll all look forward to it!

This really gets to the heart of it: suing Musk in his official capacity to establish and challenge what the hell his official capacity even is.

Ain't this the truth.

Goddamn right.

Somebody needs to tell these knuckledraggers that America is a hemisphere.

Clearly quantum mechanics and calculus are covers for fraud.

Because in the United States, it’s legal to feed chicken shit to cattle. That’s why. That’s literally the reason www.telegraph.co.uk/global-healt...

If people voted directly for the German chancellor, none of the above would currently win.
