“That is why Trumpists are so focused on “ending DEI” in the federal workforce. They see anti-discrimination and inclusion as a ladder of upward mobility for people they do not believe should have one.”

Calling a healthcare company denying coverage "murder" is running really, really fast down a road nobody wants to walk to its conclusion. The conclusion, BTW, is "So long as you can build a network of causal linkages between your act or inaction and someone's death you are a murderer".

As I’ve said before, Republicans keep acting like they don’t have to worry about elections.

I literally reported this Wednesday.

Agree. Tell me you understand why he did it, no problem. Tell me you think he was justified, then I have to wonder who else you think it’s ok to kill to make a point.

It occurred to me that firing thousands of highly skilled, highly knowledgeable people, some of whom had access to highly secret information, and now have grievances and an urgent need for money, might be considered a security risk. Like, a big one.

Not an exaggeration. We are living through a geopolitical earthquake and the future of the planet depends on people recognizing that and, sadly, that the United States government is no longer on the side of democracy, the rule of law, the international order, progress, security or decency.

In every single interview I’ve done with international media since Trump took power I’ve been asked: Why are there no mass protests? There are many reasons, of course, but the utter refusal of the self-proclaimed “fourth estate” to communicate clearly what is happening has to be high on the list.

WATCH: “When will you stand up to them and say that is enough?” WISCONSIN Republicans Grothman & Fitzgerald run into tough town hall crowds also 👇🏽👀

Doing this right before firing three top military leaders is so deranged. Source at DoD told me, “Disdain for Hegseth is a near-universal feeling even among the Trumpiest in the office.“

Be clear about what you are seeing. The firing of these senior officers has nothing to do with competence. This is creating an oath of loyal by the Armed Forces to the Leader. We face an uncertain future.

Side note. There are eight members of the joint chiefs. the chair is black. the CNO (navy) is a woman. the other six are white guys. chair and the cno got fired tonight.

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Was talking with a friend about how Hegseth's unstable personality makes him vulnerable to blackmail from unfriendly countries. My friend responded: but what would these countries ask of him that he's not already doing to weaken the US?

Of the Chiefs of Staff, vice chiefs of staff, and judge advocates general of the three branches, Trump fired all the women and Black people.

This is so many words to say Trump fired the chairman of the joint chiefs because he’s black www.nytimes.com/2025/02/21/u...

UPDATE: Infamous J6 insurrectionist Enrique Tarrio is back behind bars where he belongs. Today, following a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol — of all places — Tarrio was arrested and hauled away by Capitol Police after he took an angry swipe at a female protester. Tarrio allegedly…

@barbarajeanne.bsky.social welcome, Barb!

It's weird how everyone in the world knows a Nazi salute when we see it, with the notable exception of journalists and their editors.

Pay attention to this. Replacing JAGs with loyalists enables whatever orders Trump and Hegseth issue to be interpreted as lawful.

Jack Posobiec, a prominent influencer, has a long history of promoting antisemitic and white supremacist content. He traveled to Ukraine with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent last week.

@djrothkopf.bsky.social homes in on my 2 giant fears: Unsafe aviation making it risky to see my kids in CA & UT (like in the pandemic) and monitoring/clamping down on free speech, making it risky to do honest writing/journalism. David's right. It's gut-check time. open.substack.com/pub/davidrot...

NEW: A regional FEMA chief of staff took Elon Musk's Fork in the Road offer. He has proof of receipt. But they didn't honor it. Instead, they fired him 13 days later. Now, this retired Navy captain is speaking out. www.thebulwark.com/p/musk-doge-...

I've said it before and I'll say it again: Trump's foreign policy is a recipe for nuclear proliferation the likes of which we've never seen

Donald Trump and Elon Musk have fired “multiple FAA lawyers whose job was to help prevent pilots with drug and alcohol problems from getting in the cockpit.” Musk and Trump want you to die in an airplane crash. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Literally correct that Musk-Trump is "decimating" American science, since they indiscriminately fired one out of ten working for the NIH www.science.org/content/arti...

remarkable that the White House cannot just say that Putin is responsible for Putin's war

My overwhelming fear is still that the consequences of what Trump is up to are so devastating, when the looming disaster hits, the media will fall in line to pressure the country to rally around the president rather than kick him to the curb for causing it.

“No kings” is (unlike a lot of left of center messaging) brief, punchy, and a position that the overwhelming majority of Americans already agree with and invokes their patriotism. Trump has given us a gift here. We should use it.

When FAA employees are telling us it’s not safe to fly, we should probably listen.

This is a great action.

It does seem pretty weird that the Trump administration wanted the Ukraine President to sign that thing about giving the United States its mineral rights and then when he wouldn’t do it Trump was immediately like ok fuck Ukriane. Kinda seems like that should be a scandal or something

I try to keep the language on here… PG… but in this case i can’t. You, Trump, are a traitorous piece of shit

“After we’ve discriminated against, deported, or disparaged all the immigrants, the gay and lesbian and transgender people, the developmentally disabled, the women, and minorities. Once we’ve ostracized our neighbors and betrayed our friends… what comes next?” - Gov. JB Pritzker

8 Republicans are calling on Speaker Johnson not to target Medicaid. One short of the number it would take to oust Johnson.

Murphy: "Donald Trump's contempt for the rule of law is unprecedented. What we are all watching right now is Donald Trump throw away the idea that laws apply to everyone equally. And it is astonishing to watch so many of my Republican colleagues fall in line."

Hell yeah #reconstructiondems

Trump wants you to forget that he gutted the Aviation Safety Committee and ousted the FAA administrator during his first week in office. Don’t forget.

Trump - with his devotion to Putin, abandonment of Ukraine, and lies about history- is the antithesis of everything Ronald Reagan stood for. He is aligning America with the enemies of the very freedom that generations have fought and died to defend.

Nothing really left to say other than everyone in Congress, including the Republicans now in charge, swore oaths, in public, to country & Constitution, & it's time to fulfill them.

In his campaign, our criminal president repeatedly said he intended to prosecute his political opponents. And now…

Hey, are you eligible for another four free Covid tests? You might want to order in case the Trump admin tries again to destroy them and take down the site. Thanks to these two WaPo reporters for helping to put some brakes on

By rights, this would be another enormous DOJ scandal www.yahoo.com/news/senior-...
