#Mechanobiology community! Start writing your abstract and submit soon to join us at @cellmech2025.bsky.social in Leuven 🇧🇪 !! 👀👇🏻

Caillier, @pwoakes.bsky.social et al. find that T cells form #integrin mediated focal adhesions to pull themselves through confined spaces. https://buff.ly/4jU4e9C In #Mechanobiology 2025: https://buff.ly/3EK0uaq

Despite the current uncertainty of being a scientist, I am excited to share our manuscript demonstrating an interesting mechanism of how swirling motion of breast cancer cells align collagen fibers radially at the tumor-stroma interface to enable their invasion (1/11) @thechaudhurilab.bsky.social

Hi, #mechanobiology community! 🇧🇪Join us in Belgium for the 10th Edition of @cellmech2025.bsky.social !! 👀Look at the list of speakers!! ... and there will be more exciting announcements soon... 🎨 And you can already submit your abstract 👍

From the teams of Hadi Nia, Rakesh Jain and Lance Munn, this Review defines the four physical hallmarks of cancers and discusses the methods and technologies for assessing each hallmark. www.nature.com/articles/s41...

How do cells translate molecular forces into mechanical actions? 🧬🔬💪 Our new research combines Traction Force Microscopy (TFM) with FRET-based tension sensors to uncover how focal adhesions manage vinculin tension and cellular traction. Check it out: www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...

📚Today I've finished a beautiful book and I'm starting another one. 😍... and I've already found a lovely connection between them... Llego tarde @aberron.bsky.social, pero lo cojo con ganas 🙂

Very useful toolbox for Abaqus-Matlab communication: nl.mathworks.com/matlabcentra... Until now I was using horrible Fortran user subroutines to write output files with displacements, stresses, forces, etc. Not needed anymore! 😍 🤓Using it for my collagen #TFM simulations...

🔥 As promised, a thread on our new paper on @biorxivpreprint! First-authored by @icfortunato.bsky.social (experiments) & David Brückner (theory), under the guidance of @ehannezo.bsky.social, @xaviertrepat.bsky.social , and myself www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... 🧵⬇️ 1/20

Last week I showed to MSc students this iconic movie of a #leukocyte chasing a #bacteria, just wait... Version taken from a 16 mm video made by David Elliot Rogers @VanderbiltU in the 1950s ! (as @mag2art.bsky.social says "the Citizen Kane of #Microscopy) #CellMigration @focalplane.bsky.social

✈️🇪🇺 If you are a researcher planning to come to Europe you should listen to this episode 🎧 I also highly recommend following @bioeng-talk.bsky.social and listening to the previous episodes. I sometimes join them and say things. 👇🏽

Pre-announcing the 10th Biennial European CellMech conference organized in Leuven 🇧🇪 from September 30th to October 3rd, 2025. cellmech2025.org Save the date !

I love seeing stories published back to back. One of my favourite duos 👇I wish there was a ‘back story’ published by the teams….. @lammerdinglab.bsky.social

👋Hello #mechanobiology community! Next year we are organizing the CellMech conference in Leuven! We will soon be announcing (super amazing) invited speakers, registration deadlines, etc I'll try to keep the🦋community updated, but best is to subscribe to the mailing list 📧👇 cellmech2025.org

🕵🏼1 month ago we published in NatComm new insights on how #CCM vascular lesions are formed by mutated AND healthy ECs. Mutated "convince" healthy to join a lesion via: 💪🏼Forces 🛤️Paths in ECM 🧬Reprogramming #mechanobiology #TFM 👀 See Shapeti et al. here 👇🏼📰 www.nature.com/articles/s41...
