If I had a nickel for every time Obsidian tasked the player with solving the crime of their apparent demise that kicks off a wider political plot to change the fate of the world...

hey remember that skeet from the other day being like "what advice would you give writers that no one seems to give?" my actual answer is to stop what you are doing a play deadly premonition its problematic, clunky, broken, obtuse, and messy, but god damn am i glad it exists

I really need to rewatch Beast In The East...

Tonight's vibe.

news! news! news!

It's Update Patch time again and @wendeego.bsky.social returns to round up all the week's news including Tony Hawk rumours and NetEase pulling funding from its international studios. www.patreon.com/posts/update...

This is super funny because literally everyone internally at Xbox not on this project seems to feel it's so blisteringly useless that it would slow down their workflow massively.

hold up, i'm looking into something important

if you look like this, call me (demons included)

engage with bad media and criticism and just stuff you don't like from time to time, find the words for its bad, articulate them and small things you can appreciate in stuff you other don't like

get paid for your work. back up your clips often. within reason, say "fuck it" and apply it to whatever it is you're doing. time will pass and you *will* regret wasting evenings and weekends. sometimes it can't be helped. but try to stop to smell the roses. you and your writing will be better for it

Was not expecting Rugby 25 to make such bold and slightly confused political statements...

@squidgerugby.bsky.social conducting important research before we record a podcast... (the game defaulted to ben thomas starting at 10 btw)

Me: The Cybertruck is the worst car ever built. Guy who loves one of the worst mainstream consoles of all time and has too much time on his hands:

every now and again i'll read through an author's recent work and get the vibe that they think of the cynical-attitude-era magazine/earlier web 2.0 games media as "the good ole days" and i make a mental note to never take them seriously again.

Hey so today is my birthday! It’s also a year since Jessica was diagnosed with MS. Despite the challenges, she’s been handling everything with grace. If you’re inclined to get me something, please support my wife’s efforts to raise awareness for MS. ☺️ events.nationalmssociety.org/index.cfm?fu...

I'm being kind.

this feels like the pitch for a show in 30 rock...

like alan, im also a writer trapped in a dark place (the cms)

@alexnavarro.bsky.social I needed a clean loop of this so I made one myself.

Like... I'm not just being weird right? Like "semiweekly" isn't a word and I assume what they mean is two times a week... which is also "biweekly", right? And "semimonthly" is EXTRA NOT A WORD... IT WOULD ALSO BE BIWEEKLY!

apple podcast just asked how often we post our podcast and ummm.... what?

i have a confession...

Pleased to have my Trails Through Daybreak 2 review live! Largely enjoyed it, thought there were a couple of missteps but overall a good follow up.

ICYMI: How the Yakuza franchise failed before eventually breaking out into the west.

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage blends its teen drama with a heavy dose of ’90s nostalgia
